Final Fantasy XI (eleven)

Hey. I know this is a bit of an old game. But lately I've been bit by the FF bug and have proceded to play through some old titles.

I have not played FFXI but it does look interesting.

Can anyone tell me if it's really worthwhile? As an FF fan will I like it? Is there a storyline, similar to other FFs with a good plot and a master villain to crush? or is it just countless quests over and over? How do they change it from single player to multi player? Is it a good transition?

Also, and most importantly, are there any RP servers? I like roleplaying in games like this, and feel that in FF it would be almost necessary.

i hate those games out now that you have to pay to play. You pay 50 bucks to get it then you have to pay 20 a month to play it. It sucks for me cause i'm so poor hehe

I have ffx 2 on ps2. I never played it online before. i love the ending of ffx 1 though. ffx2 is a bit different then the others but, it's cool. i was only disappointed Auron didn't reappear. that dude....

Final Fantasy 11 is very different from the rest. The plot is there, but you must invest a LOT of playtime in order to see it through, because you have to level your character to be strong enough to take on the missions. I've been playin for a year, and I've only got two level 30 characters (although I don't live on it like some players do). I like it, though. I actually like it better than World of Warcraft, mainly because the graphics are cleaner and it supports gamepads.
