  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I'm not sure, but you may be making something that is purely symbolic and simple a little more complicated than it really is.

Christ came from Israel:

(Isa 11:1) And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:

(Jer 23:5) Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth.

(Jer 33:15) In those days, and at that time, will I cause the Branch of righteousness to grow up unto David; and he shall execute judgment and righteousness in the land.

In this respect we are blessed "through" Israel.

The Canaanite woman that Christ went to tried to lay claim to the "Son of David", but as a Gentile, she had no right to that claim. Christ had not paid the price yet:

(Gal 3:13-14) Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: {14} That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

After Christ paid the price, all people gained the opportunity to be sons of Abraham:

(Gal 3:26-29) For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. {27} For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. {28} There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. {29} And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Now, i think i'm starting to see your P.O.V. :idea: i do not feel today, that i am a "son of abraham". I have nothing to do with Israel. Are we not seated with Christ in heavenly places? (Ep 2:6)
Gotta love PC Bible study 4,, i was able to jump to my handy concordance and notice that Abraham was not mentioned once in the last 7 letters from Paul; but He was mentioned 39 times in the NT and 28 of those are in Paul early letters.

Eph 2:14-16
14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;
15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;
16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:
KJV

The making of peace had to happen after Isreal was set aside. There was no peace while Israel was in first place (Rom 1:16, 2:9 and 2:10). As verse 15 states, there was still commandments and ordinances around. The Jewish believers were keeping ALL of the law, for whatever reason. Gentiles were asked by the Holy Ghost to keep 4 points of the law. (Acts 15:20 15:28,29, 1 Cor 11:2, Acts 16:4)

When God makes something new, He makes something new right?...Matt 9:16-17

I guess this is were we might differ,... Thanks for clarifying.

If you are in Christ you are a son of Abraham.

"If be be Christ's, then ye are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise."
