Thank you, HD. I took my two youngest with me, now 20 and 11, and the 4 of us had a nice time together. Afterwards I drove her to the supermarket to get her prescription drugs and groceries. She is set for a week or so. A therapist comes to her house 3x a wk.

I made German Chocolate Cake, a favorite of hers, from scratch and took it over. It was rich, too rich for me! I see why I don't eat much of that stuff anymore. If I do I may end up needing drugs and therapy too. Not. I've decided I will do what the Lord has showed me instead. All He leads us to do brings life - death to the flesh, but life. The kingdom of God is full of paradoxes. My flesh kicked and screamed when I gave up all the foods that were killing me. Tough. I had to put it to death. And just as surely as in all things, life sprang forth! What a harvest I have reaped! Scripture says when a seed falls into the ground and dies there will be life - John 12. Ultimately this speaks of Jesus who died for us, and who was raised by God to life in that He lives forevermore and gives life to all those who die with Him. These shall live with Him too.

Is it b/c it's Sunday morning that I got to preaching?

I love the Lord. May I die more. Less of me and more of Him.

Lord, increase in us here. Increase in each one personally, and in the lives they touch. Increase in us corporately on this thread. Increase in us in every way, spirit, soul, and body, financially, and in our relationships. We want more of You.

I just did a little study on mercy and truth. Here are some scriptures in Psalms that talk about it. It is amazing how often they are together. And aren't you glad they are?

Psalm 25:10 All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth,
To such as keep His covenant and His testimonies.

Psalm 57:3 He shall send from heaven and save me;
He reproaches the one who would swallow me up. Selah
God shall send forth His mercy and His truth.

Psalm 61:7 He shall abide before God forever.
Oh, prepare mercy and truth, which may preserve him!

Psalm 85:10 Mercy and truth have met together;
Righteousness and peace have kissed.

Psalm 86:15 But You, O Lord, are a God full of compassion, and gracious,
Longsuffering and abundant in mercy and truth.

Psalm 89:14 Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne;
Mercy and truth go before Your face.

Psalm 98:3 He has remembered His mercy and His faithfulness to the house of Israel;
All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.

Psalm 100:5 For the LORD is good;
His mercy is everlasting,
And His truth endures to all generations.

Psalm 108:4 For Your mercy is great above the heavens,
And Your truth reaches to the clouds.

Proverbs 16:6 In mercy and truth
Atonement is provided for iniquity;
And by the fear of the LORD one departs from evil.

And there are more!

The Hebrew word for mercy is checed, meaning - goodness, kindness, faithfulness.
The Hebrew word for truth is emuwnah, meaning - firmness, fidelity, steadfastness, steadiness. It is this word in Psalm 98:3 that was translated to faithfulness.

If you take into consideration that this Hebrew word chesed has bee translated into other words besides mercy, you find these two linked together in many more scriptures, like these.
Psalm 138:2 I will worship toward Your holy temple,
And praise Your name
For Your lovingkindness and Your truth;
For You have magnified Your word above all Your name.

Psalm 40:10 I have not hidden Your righteousness within my heart;
I have declared Your faithfulness and Your salvation;
I have not concealed Your lovingkindness and Your truth
From the great assembly.

I'm kind of numb after a day out in the sun at the beach. I took my daughter, who has been wanting to go for some time, and we had the best time. It was so beautiful, just like a picture post card you see. The tide was going out, the waves were just right, not too rough but still rode a bunch, the air was warm, the water refreshing, the water color the prettiest blue/green, and the sky with a cloud here and there. Thank you, Lord, for this kind of rest.

Yesterday I enjoyed a day with my father. By the way, I'd like to wish any dads who pop in here a belated happy father's day. Godly men are extremely valuable. We sure appreciate you.

I just had an enjoyable visit from my parents and we cherished a time of prayer together before they left.. It is so wonderful to have both parents who know and love the LORD!! It is so good to praise God with them and pray for other family members as well..

Hi Friends!
I haven't posted since...well, forever! I've been extremely busy. On Saturday, I finished up a 21 day fast in preparation for my tent ministry that started on Saturday. What an experience! The venue was a new age type of street fair where we offered dream interpretation and spiritual readings. We were constantly busy. After people sat down, we told them we were Christians and that we would pray and ask God to help us interpret their dreams or give them a reading. A few faces fell (or smiles froze) when we said, "Christian", but no one left! Several people shed tears when we spoke into their hearts and many people were blessed by how much God loves them. All in all, it was a powerful experience to be part of this ministry. I'll be doing a few more fairs though out this summer.

Cindy, I read about your German Chocolate cake. Yummy. A friend of mine just baked one and I have a piece calling to me in the refrigerator. Aren't they just fab??? (or should I say "flab"?)

I hope you wore sunscreen!

Always. We were there only for about 2 hours, but that is more than ample time to get a bad burn. My daughter is so tan now she wouldn't burn but we wear it to protect our skin from dangerous UVA and UVB rays. I'm a little red since we use an "8" sunscreen. But I don't mind. It's not hurting and won't peel.

Our knees, well, they got skinned just a bit, my daughter's more so. Sometime when catching a wave on the boogie board the knee hits the sand as we come onto the beach.

New word - flabulous! Oh-oh. May not be too good. I have had a lot of it, all small pieces, but a piece a day nonetheless. (Sometimes more than one a day.) I won't make it again, at least not for our family here. Next is apple pie. My dad's bday is coming up and he is not one for sweets. Me apple pie is not overtly sweet, as is true of most of my desserts, so he likes it. I may whip up some real organic whip cream and have it with fresh berries in the meantime b/c his bday is a week or more away yet. That is my idea of a normal treat, something along those lines. I have been wanting to make pumpkin cheesecake made with tofu. One of these days.......

I had wondered where you have been. I should have realized you'd be given to the dream interpretations project. I'll be keeping this in prayer. Let us know when the next fair comes up.

Oh yeah, me too! It amazes me how much you all are in my heart. I carry you with me in all I do, thinking of you often.

Nothing compares to meeting with people IRL of like mind and praying. Whew! Our prayer meetings at church......

Psalm 138:2 I will worship toward Your holy temple and praise Your name for Your loving-kindness and for Your truth and faithfulness; for You have exalted above all else Your name and Your word and You have magnified Your word above all Your name!

Sometimes, if not always, I think it's good to offer a prayer of praise to the Lord. I think most always praise is best to precede everything we are planning to say. We enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise.

Our prayer should always be "Word-based". If we prayer according to His will we know He hears us. And if He hears us we know we have that which we have prayed for.

1 John 5:14 This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 15 And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him.



His Word is His will.
