I never liked Hagee. Just seemed like he was mad at the entire world, felt he intellectually superior and took delight in the suffering of anyone who was not his group.

Did you see the CNN series "God's Warriors" last summer? Very enlightening. One segment (of many) profiled Hagee and his church.

So, yeah, the guy is not my cup of tea and he's SUCH a turnoff that I can't even evaluate what he teaches.
^_^ I think I forgot to make my point in bringing up Hagee. Excuse me, it's been a long day. :)

I listened to Hagee quite a few times now in the past year or two. Whereas I once found him exactly as you described, I caught him teaching once, in a normal tone of voice, not mad at anyone. Not that he is ever really directing his anger toward anyone. I think it is more directed to wrongdoing. While he can be that way, his teaching can be very, very good. I found this true when he teaches on anything pertaining to Israel. His forte is Israel and the book of Revelation, from what I've gathered. I can honestly say I am grateful the Lord taught me not to ridicule or badmouth those who I don't like, by way of taste. I would have missed so much! Also, he has aired shows where he interviews guests such as Dr. Don Colbert, who you know I like to watch.

Maybe people are just "not done yet", a work in progress, or they are called to speak to another group than me. Not every message is for everyone.

Getting back to Bentley and company....

Is there any sort of a Biblical model for healing? I don't want to try to restrict things to a "formula", but is it "anything goes"?

What sort of miracles do you believe do or could happen today?
Any that has ever happened at any time. God is the same. Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. If He opened the yes of the blind, made the deaf to hear, raised the dead, cancelled debt, and everything else He did, if He did it then, He does it now. His name is I AM.

There are various ways of administering healing and receiving healing. There is the laying on of hands, the prayer of faith, handkerchiefs from Paul's body even healed people....the Bible has many ways of healing. Even Jesus healed the blind in different ways. He once spit in the dirt and made mud, then smeared it on a man' eyes. He didn't do that every time.

"Bam" is different. New to me. :D I think that is TB's personality coming through. Words are mediums, a way to transfer thoughts, images, and to release faith. I wouldn't get uptight over that.

I'm watching the Florida Outpouring on God.TV online..

The picture is a lot clearer that it was for me at the other link..

Just had to go to god.tv.. register.. and watch the link..

God is so awesome.. some of the testimonies from emails to God TV that are scrolling across the screen are fantastic.. lots of teens being overcome by the Spirit as they watched on TV..

In one family, a woman's 3 sons.. 14, 12 & 11.. fell to their knees weeping.. accepting Jesus.. She called her friends in Tampa.. her friend's 10 year old son was on the floor also..

Emails of healings as they watched on tv or the internet..

Oh, Lord.. the World is hungry & thirsty for Your Glorious Presence.. Alleuia..
Hi Glenda! Good to see you again!

I'm not sure if it is the link, or DSL, or my computer, but ustream is not clear, freezes, is not responding at times....I've gotten to where I'm not watching as much b/c of it.

I'm so so happy at what is happening! Praise God!

Ok, so is it the Holy Spirit doing healings, etc? Or something else?

Also, what is word of knowledge?

That's an excellent question Mark. It is smart to have some discernment concerning any situation such as this.

Word of knowledge, according to things I have encountered, is the gift of knowledge...which is Scripture + Insight lead by the Holy Spirit.

I'm sure if that's not agreed with it will be corrected.

I'm not real sure about "who" in the trinity is.....Jesus bore our sicknesses, by His stripes we were healed. I reckon the Holy Spirit administers it....It may come to me later. Sometimes I walk away from the computer and ..... Bam! :D No pun intended. ^_^ I'm kinda tired now, and I have stuff to attend to in the kitchen yet...

Too bad, I love it when people are here, you and Glenda right now....

Word of knowledge. And then I gotta go! Word of knowledge is knowing something you would not know by natural means, like TB calling out a particular ailment. "There's a woman here with a pin in her knee, you've had problems since you were a little girl with it...." "Someone has a large tumor on their calf...." Whatever. Know what I mean? That's the Holy Spirit revealing it to TB, or anyone who will let Him use them.

Yeah, it is done by the Holy Spirit. 1 Corinthians 12 answers that. And I didn't even walk away! ^_^

Yes, you can receive by the gifts of the Spirit, or you can receive by faith from the Word of God. You don't have to wait till you get in a service like that to be healed, no more than you have to wait for the moving of water (John 5). Jesus has come, just as he came to that man in John 5. The Lord has sent forth His Word to heal (Psalm 107:20).

The Lord makes Himself available in so many ways. He is wanting to get it to us.

Hope this all made sense.

OK, so the Holy Spirit is all-knowing? And he is telling people stuff? No offence, sounds like channeling a medium.

My apologies if I got off topic. Started a new thread about word of knowledge. Maybe some other people will elaborate.

I agree with you Mark. It is exactly like channeling. There were some things that concerned me and my husband last night as we watched.

Many things in the occult world counterfeit the real gifts of the spirit, so we do need discernment. Many, many activities in the new age are nearly exact replicas of Christian practices - the laying of hands, the embodiment of spirits (in the Christians' case, Christ), the ability to prophesy, etc. Take away Christ, and you couldn't tell the difference between occult-based healing, and Christian healing (except for the results and that's a whole new subject).

That said, simply because a Christian finally uses these gifts, that they necessarily come from the enemy. IMO, the enemy has taken over the real gifts for a long time and has claimed them as his own. We let him do it through doctrine that persuades us to shelve these gifts out of fear, beliefs, or ignorance. I think that's why people like Todd Bentley are looked upon with so much skepticism by some - not so much by unbelievers, but by other Christians. When someone reads the bible, believes that signs and wonders are supposed to follow all believers, and actually acts upon that belief, we attack, shun, and even accuse them of witchcraft.

I think we need discernment, but we are also called to honor those God has anointed. We look at the fruits, we ask is Christ being worshipped and the word followed? If yes, then I'd like to see support given to those God has called. He needs it.

Yep, exactly Ral. No it isn't channeling. It is called listening to Holy Spirit, and speaking what He says.

Very good post, and insight. You are right, ral. These truths are founded in God, and the devil takes them, twists them a little, and leads people astray. He comes with nothing original. He has no ability to create.

On that note, we do. We are made in God's image. Just as God used words to form this universe, we use words to form and shape our lives, and influence others. We speak things into existence by speaking things that are not as though they were. Check Romans 4.

Now that is a doctrine, sound in the Word, that gets plenty of flack. Oh well. It's true nonetheless.

We need to be watchful of those in the body to see if they are staying on course. Some do get into error. I pray TB is not/will not. I did not see last night's service, but belle, you have my interest peaked. I may not have the time to ever check it out. We'll see.

We all need to be listening to the Spirit of God within us. If we abide in His Word and His Words abide in us, the Spirit of God will quicken us as to what is true and what is false. You just kinda know. This is critically important for there are deceivers out there, and I expect more as the Day of the Lord approaches.

Yep, exactly Ral. No it isn't channeling. It is called listening to Holy Spirit, and speaking what He says.
I think so too, Angel. But I see where the two are similar. One operates in light, the other in darkness.

Good morning
Good morning, sweetie! Oops, now afternoon, here anyway.

By the way, I am not disagreeing with your explanation of the gift of the word of knowledge. Different people put things in different words. You put it in another perspective, maybe giving a more complete picture.

We'll have to see how Mark's thread is going. I'm sure it is interesting and informative. Hopefully non-combative.

Well I better got see to lunch, ya'll, and get to praying about some things on my heart before I lose the burden to pray. I had requests come across email, and on a thread on CF.

Thank you for your compliment, Mark..

Receiving a Word of Knowledge is one of the nine gifts from the Holy Spirit..

1Co 12:7 But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit to profit withal.
1Co 12:8 For to one is given through the Spirit the word of wisdom; and to another the word of knowledge, according to the same Spirit:
1Co 12:9 to another faith, in the same Spirit; and to another gifts of healings, in the one Spirit;
1Co 12:10 and to another workings of miracles; and to another prophecy; and to another discernings of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; and to another the interpretation of tongues:

The Holy Spirit is God.. and He gives every believer at least one of these gifts.

And it is indeed a gift.. there is nothing you do to deserve it.. you don't need to be 'holy enough' or 'good enough'.. He just gives it to you..

I'm reading a book that God brought to my attention in Publix of all places.. :D "The Gifts of the Spirit" by Derek Prince..

I thought that's what channeling was: getting a message from the spirit world and repeating it.

In this case, it MAY actually be the Holy Spirit, but same principle, eh?

WAIT!!! Time out! Not every Christian has one of these gifts!! Heck, lots of Christians don't even believe that they are active today.

Young Girl Goes to Heavenly Surgery Room; Receives Healing From Crippling Diseases
Teresa Neumann-BCN Exclusive (May 1, 2008)
A desperate missionary family, unfamiliar with healing revivals, takes their daughter to Lakeland where she has an encounter with Jesus.
(Lakeland, Florida)—Pastor Stephen Strader of Ignited Church in Lakeland, Florida, where a massive revival has broken out, contacted Breaking Christian News about an amazing healing that took place there on Saturday, April 26, in which 14-year-old Kelsey Hays was healed from multiple immune diseases.
kelseyhays.jpg
I telephoned Kelsey's mother, Lesley, of Kansas City, Missouri, on Tuesday, April 29, to ask her details of what happened. She and Kelsey were still in Lakeland, preparing to fly back to Kansas City where they attend the International House of Prayer (IHOP).
Some background on Kelsey and her family:
At the age of 9, Kelsey was diagnosed with Hashimoto's disease, an immune related thyroid condition. Later she acquired Hepatitis C, which her mother says she "fought off," but in the process it left her body weakened and subject to other immunological diseases.
Mr. and Mrs. Hayes and their family have been missionaries in Mexico—and most recently Ecuador—for at least ten years. In September of last year, they had arrived back in the states for a furlough. Shortly thereafter, in October, Kelsey fell victim to a variety of increasingly serious illnesses. She had her gall bladder removed and during the surgery doctors noticed that her liver was scarred and infected. Later, doctors believed inflammation from the infection had entered the lining of her stomach and was attacking her central nervous system. By April, Kelsey's parents and her baffled doctors were at their wit's ends. She was in continual, intense, and severely crippling pain, taking up to 30 pills a day to try and manage it.

Then one day someone at the Hays' church approached them with news of the revival in Lakeland and offered to pay the family's way there. Though they had never experienced meetings such as the ones they were about to attend, the Hays were desperate. Also, Lesley said Kelsey had shared with them a significant vision she had in March of this year, the Saturday before Easter Sunday. In the vision, Kelsey said she found herself connected to an IV, standing before the Throne of God. Jesus came down and cut the IV tube and then God the Father came down, removed the IV from her hand, took off her hospital gown and said, "It's done!" (The day after the vision, noted Lesley, was the worst day of pain Kelsey had ever had.)

Saturday, April 26, Lakeland, Florida:

By the time Kelsey and her parents arrived at the venue in Lakeland it was 6:00 in the evening. The lines of people stretching for blocks outside of the church told them that it was filled to capacity and they would not be able to get in. Standing in the crowd, the Hays heard story after story of healings and miracles happening around the world even to those not present in the meetings. Somehow, Lesley and Kelsey were finally able to get in (she thought because they had helped another suffering couple to get in), but Mr. Hays remained outside.

Kelsey was in so much pain and so fatigued she couldn't walk. Her mother literally dragged, and half carried, her up to the only space available in the balcony where they began to cry and worship the Lord. It's all they could do, she said. Standing next to them were a man and woman; complete strangers. The woman turned to Kelsey and said, "I believe God wants to give you new organs." (Kelsey's gall bladder had been removed.) The man looked at Lesley and said, "I just saw you in a dream recently. I saw myself carrying your daughter down to the stage to get prayer."

lakeland2.jpg
Even though at the time Todd was taking testimonies from people who had been healed, the man offered to help take Kelsey down to get prayer. Lesley, unfamiliar with the type of meeting she was in, was afraid of breaking protocol and hesitated. Moments later, Todd stopped the testimonies and said, "I see someone with an IV pain drip in their left arm. Who is that?" Remembering Kelsey's vision of standing before the throne with her IV, her mother took up the man's offer. He carried Kelsey down to the stage. Todd prayed a simple prayer, touched Kelsey's forehead and she fell out under the power of the Spirit for about 45 minutes, said Lesley.

What was happening to Kelsey during this time?

According to her mother, Kelsey said while she was "out" she was taken to Heaven. She found herself in a celestial surgical room where Jesus stood next to her looking right down at her, directly face-to-face. He said to her, "Keep your eyes on me, Kelsey. It'll be ok."

She saw angels all around her; she felt them kneading her stomach, doing deep massage on her entire body, especially her legs and arms which had been so weak. At one point while Kelsey was lying on the floor under the Spirit, her mother said Todd announced publicly: "Look! There's angels over her."

When Kelsey finally came to and stood up, Todd asked her how she felt. "I feel nothing," said Kelsey. "I feel NO PAIN!"

At this writing, it has been four days since Kelsey has experienced God's extraordinary touch of healing and she is still without pain. She's feeling just like a 14-year old girl should feel.
