Hi everybody I'm back. I know it's been along while since I have been here and lot has nappened. But the short version is I lost my job and had to move back in with parents so I'm no longer stuck using computers at the public library that blocks forum sites.

Welcome back!
Sorry about the job... praying that you find a new one soon.

But, God provided last time, no? He will again  If He's giving you time off, it's because that's what He needs for you right now. He sees what's coming next; what's in store for you  And God being God, it's something wonderful.

Are you managing to stay positive?

That's wonderful way of thinking about this situation thank you.
I really haven't been staying positive but right now there is so much uncertainity I haven't even been living with parents for a week we are only maybe half way through unpacking/putting things in storage so I'm sure the situation is going to change.

It'll feel a little less overwhelming once you're setted back in

Just, mustn't lose hope, bro. It's the Lord's promise that He will restore everything that's been taken from us. That includes jobs, and happiness and hope - just give Him time, and faith, and He'll do the rest  Tis so easy sometimes to forget how invested in our lives He is, and how He really and truly is in control of everything. We panic and worry and fret... all the while, He's there with a smile, waiting for us to settle so He can move in our lives. He won't let you down :) Not ever

And it's SO nice to have you back!

Hi everyone. Guess I'll just post my thoughts on things I learn at college. Interesting how Islam progressed through history compared to Christendom. They were in the "Dark Ages" while the Muslims were achieving an intellectual "Golden Age". The past is so smeared..

Also in greek history class I'm learning about homosexuality in Greek. Turns out what people are pushing for today wasn't accepted back then either. Most of it was pederasty, a ritual and symbol of power.. The question I have though is...why did they paint this on cups.

I wondered why you were up at 0200!!!!

I've had trouble sleeping this week, too, and I was dragging today.
Horrible, isn't it. Hot milk doesn't work, counting sheep doesn't work... what's left?

Well, I'm taking an allergy pill tonight. That usually does the trick for me and yes, I'm packing a year's supply to bring over to the UK, just in case. :D

Seriously, would you consider a small glass of wine? That sometimes helps the body and mind relax, but I suffer through it until it passes or I read. The Psalms always help me. :)

Small glass? Small glass? :p Actually, am not a big drinker... but I can't remember it ever having had any sort of soporific effect. Still, tastes yummy :)

The Psalms isn't a bad idea, actually. Will give that a go  Fankya!

As soon as the visas come in after the marriage license is filed at the end of December. Hopefully, that will put us there no later than early Feb
. It will be nice to finally be together as a family. :)

Am sorry :( Why so tough?
I have been doing tech support over the phone for exactly six years! Most people don't last more than six months...a year at the most. After that you get into the burnout zone very easily.

Basically a day full of pure mental stress with no physical outlet.

I heard this statistic last year. The top three most stressful professions are dentist, air traffic controller...and tech support.

This is just a random link Google spit out:
http://claireb.wordpress.com/2007/1...rofessions-and-other-top-workplace-stressors/
It lists IT as the top.
If you look at the list of Stresses and Irritations...they all apply to me. In spades!!

Sometimes I laugh at how ridiculous my job is. Other times I feel like crying.

One silver lining is that I am shifting over to a weekend schedule in January. That will mean I work by myself (as opposed to with 10 irritating people...yipee!!) Saturday and Sunday with only working Monday and Wednesday during the week.
That will actually help a whole lot...
:)

Why is it so stressful? I never assumed it was an easy job but, must admit, it never occurred to me it was actively stressy, much less in the top 3! Is it from talking to us luddites so much? :(

If so, on behalf of all luddites, am really sorry

Sounds horrid, WWC, sorry it's so stressful.
But the change in days sounds positive..praying it gives you more time to relax and wind down.

Insomnia is horrible! I find it helps to get up and do something, then go back to bad.. otherwise I lie there getting more and more he up about not sleeping!
Try to look at it as a blessing.. a few hours in the middle of the night to send time with God without the interruptions of the daytime!
