Sweet story.
Our Shih Tzu is very social, as well. He seems to believe he is the official greeter and is a great host to anyone who comes near him. They are the best companion dogs!
OH YES!...They are just so loving and happy little things and nothing pleases them more than to just be near you...and the expressions they get sometimes...I could read Sarai's face like a book...it was so childlike.
My husband cracked up when he first heard me talk to her and say "Hey...you in the "dog suit" yes...I'm talking to you!"
...and she would look at me...and [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] her little head back and forth and her face said..."I'm trying soooo very hard to understand what you're saying."
I'm trying not to go on and on about her...but it's really, really hard not to...
