  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The best behaved cat I've ever had was my cat Tiger. We didn't adopt him; he adopted us. When I was in fifth grade, my parents and I moved to a new apartment complex. As we were moving all our boxes in, we saw a cat outside that looked a lot like my cat Stripey. We kept looking at him, and then checked to make sure that Stripey was safely locked up. Tiger was just a stray cat, but came by to visit every day. I fell in love with him. I would feed and water him daily, and pet him often. He adopted us and when we moved, he moved with us.

One of my favourite stories of Tiger was the fact that he was our guard-cat. Whenever my mom and I would walk to the laundry room in our apartment complex, he would follow us. But he was quite a gentleman. He sat and waited outside the laundry room, watching protectively. After we started a load of laundry, he would walk us back to our apartment.

Even my dad, who doesn't really like cats, loved Tiger. He just had the sweetest personality. Unfortunately we lost him when I was in the seventh grade. However, I still have his mate Stripey and his grandson Ruffi.
