Heya sister,
I don't know what it is like in your shoes, anxiety disorder and all. From my own experience with depression, dysfunctions, and later ADD. My trust in the Lord showing me the way out of my darkness, and just being really fed up with being down all the time. These things helped me survive many long nights and painful days.
Remember God created our minds, so the best debugger is his Word. Instead of asking what God is doing wrong in your life, ask yourself what are you doing wrong. Remember we grew up in a world drowning in sin. As we grew up we knowing and unknowingly learn from the ways of this world and not God. What we think is normal might accually be the root of our problems.
Proverbs 19:8
He who gets wisdom loves his own soul;
he who cherishes understanding prospers.
2 Chronicles 7:14
if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
This one peice of scripture given to me by my step Dad was the foundation of my salvation and mental recovery.
To humble, to say what God says. God knows our hearts better than we do. When we do not say what he says then we are lying to him. How can someone truly take on a problem if they don't admit the true cause? Problem just doesn't get resolved and becomes a dysfunction.
To Pray, to ask for help. To seek out help from the Lord and any other resources of information. Basicly asking for understanding of the problem. For when you understand a problem, then one understands the simple answer God gives.
To seek his Face, to understand the creator is to ultimately understand ourselves. To understand who the painter of a great painting is, is to understand his style and how it all comes together. Using my understanding as from my computer days, our brains are much like a computer. When we run software according to way God designed our OS(Operating system) then lot less bugs. Use the garbage software made by satan, bugs lead to full crash of the computer.
To change from your wicked ways, to basicly start the PROCESS of change. To apply the knowledge and understanding to create WISDOM. Remember that hardest thing to change is human behavior. It is a process, some changes can be snap of a finger while others take days, months, or however long it takes. Don't be surprized if stumbles or mistakes happen. This is just natural part of growth. Learn from the mistakes and get back up.
Depression has lot to do with the fact a person only sees the evil in the world. There is a brilliant fire that lights up the darkness in this world and that is Lord Jesus. Some of us christians may have weak candles eminating from our hearts, but that is just a sign of spiritual growth is needed.
One of my favorite songs from Staind was "Schizophrenic Conversations".
Are you afraid, afraid of the truth
in the mirror staring back at you
The image is cracked but so is the view here
and the strength of a tree begins in the roots
That I tend to bury into you
At least now the storm can't blow me away
He is right, Lord spoke of the same in a different way.
Luke 6:46-49
Building on a Solid Foundation
46 “So why do you keep calling me ‘Lord, Lord!’ when you don’t do what I say? 47 I will show you what it’s like when someone comes to me, listens to my teaching, and then follows it. 48 It is like a person building a house who digs deep and lays the foundation on solid rock. When the floodwaters rise and break against that house, it stands firm because it is well built. 49 But anyone who hears and doesn’t obey is like a person who builds a house without a foundation. When the floods sweep down against that house, it will collapse into a heap of ruins.”
I pray this aides you. Remember the only person that can truly help you is yourself. And at the same time, we are our own worse enemy. Put your trust in the Lord and learn from him as I have. Learning never stops, we are always students.
