I'm 19, and believe in God and Jesus. I'm seriously afraid of dying. It's so bad that it's affecting my everyday life and health. Like being in bed all day, not eating, anxiety, and hysterically crying. I never had this problem until I thought I had colon cancer, witch turned out to be procitis. I want my life back, but not the one I was living before. Looking back, I wasn't the person I want to be. I was horrible... I started down a really wrong path when I was 15. I started to smoke, drink, have sex, and endulge in all kinda of sinful ways. I lied, disobeyed my parents, stole, made fun of people/judged them, when I was no better. I can't even imagine what God had thought of me. Sometimes I find myself questioning my own faith and think things I know I shouldn't. I really want to believe that there is an afterlife, because all of this just don't happen for nothing, there has to be a reason we are here. This isn't just some great comic mistake of some sort, it just dosen't make any sense. Still, I catch myself saying "what if"? I've been praying constantly for forgiveness, guidance, and peace of mind. How can I become closer to God, so that not for one moment I have to question my faith In Him? I'm going to start to go to Church
this Sunday, and I also quit smoking two days ago. I'm going to try to talk to a Paster, and am considering going to get therapy. Is this God's way of telling me to start living right, a wake up call perhaps? Help?

Welcome Ashley :)
Wake up calls are good...especially if you take the pro-active (healing) steps that you are planning!
As you grow in faith, your fear of death should lessen....Life is the JOURNEY ~ Heaven is HOME....and God will see you get home safely to Him
The process of dying is a fear we all face at some point in our lives, but again....faith sees us through; the Lord gives us sufficient light and grace.
Praying for abundant blessings of faith, hope, love, peace, and JOY, on your special journey in faith, through life :crossrc:

Welcome to CF!

Praying for your walk with Christ and for deliverance from your fear of dying. Thank You Lord!

I try to think as that I will try to do the best I can with the time God has given me before He calls me home, whether it is two monts or 60 years.

I didnt see in ur post that you had actually become a Christian even though the little sign above the box says Christian..

So im not sure where u are coming from..May I ask

was there ever a time in your life when you recognized that you were a sinner and repented of your sins trusting n Christ and Him alone for the forgiveness of your sins

Lifting u in prayer

Sister it sounds like your being convicted by the Lord to change your ways of living. Trust me, I too, am dealing with the same thing. But remember that Jesus loves us and he wants you to come to him with prayer. I as well have a fear of dying. I am 28 years old and have done some habitual sinning and somewhat still do. But God keeps putting me back in my place. Sometimes I feel as though he maybe might giving me this fear and anxiety to straighten up! lol sounds to me you have the holy spirit in you. It takes time to build a relationship with God. Don't worry about the what if. He knows your heart and our minds race to thinking things of the flesh. Be patient and keep praying. If I can help you any let me know.

I am a Christian. I have always believed Jesus died on the cross for my sins. I ask for forgiveness just about every time I pray.

Another question if u dont mind sister...Do you believe the Holy Bible to be God's Word and that it is Truth? Not just some truth here and some truth there, but all of God's Word, do you believe it?

Sometimes I question it, but I use to not though. I never really read the Bible
much. I heard the more you read it, the more you understand. I've been praying for forgiveness and guidance. How do I get these doubt out of my mind? And how do I have faith in God enough that everything will be okay after I die.

If you believe that Jesus rose from the grave by God, don't you think God can do the same for you? I advise you to watch/listen/read John MacArthur probably the most sound Bible teacher that I've heard.

God tells us in His Word,

that faith cometh from hearing and hearing by the Word of God

need more faith?

Read the Word

Need more faith?

study the Word

Need more faith?

Meditate on the Word

Need more faith

Plant it in your heart

Need more faith

Devour the Word

Faith cometh from hearing and hearing by the Word of God

the last thing satan wants us to do is get in God's Word

He hates God and He hates what God has to say

and will do all he can to discourage God's children from reading the Word of the Lord

When satan tempted Jesus ,how did the Lord defeat him

HE SPOKE THE WORD

HIS WORD

I cannot even tell you how valuable the Word of God is

There is truly Power in the Word of God

if u will ck out my blog I think I posted a study of the power of God's word in it..the Lord led me to do that study years ago and when I had finished I was so surprized all that the Word of God did for us..

so may I encourage you to get in the Word, stay in it and stay in prayer

fastings and prayers as well

we need to keep humble before the Lord

God bless you and keep pressing on sister

You need to listen to a good Bible based Pastor who speaks with authority... That will feed your faith. God bless you.

Lord help our friend. As they need to lean and depend on you. And that help to calm their fears and worries. Knowing that you are in control Lord. Just help them the best way you know how. In thy name and will, amen.
