Oh, and I am VERY disappointed that I haven't seen Buckethead more on these lists.

He is a freaking guitar god. He can play ANY genre flawlessly, from funk to metal to jazz to rock to bluegrass to anything else, and can both shred your socks off and play with the most emotion I've ever heard. He is amazing.

Ikr what on earth people, well at least they got slash but cmon ppl Buckethead is amazing, he can play a whole song in one fret(yes, ik hes the same person lol)! Oh and besides Buckethead my fav guitarists are Jon Star from becoming the archetype, JB Brubaker from August Burns Red, Nick Hapa from as i lay dying, Christer Espevoll and Ole Borud from Extol. Oh yes these are all Christian metal bands.

im going to have to say John Petrucci again, his work on Dream Theater's latest album 'Black Clouds and Silver Linings' is amazing! his tone, precision, phrasing and how much he has improved since the last album! I never thought JP could get any better than he was, but he proved me wrong!

JP is simply amazing. That man literally changed my whole outlook on guitar and music. His melodic licks and his playing, there is no one like him. SO i agree with ya.

Hard to say, as I change every day and am constantly discovering new guitar players.

It's so funny because when I was a kid, all I wanted to do was play fast, blistering solos.

I went through my rock stage, my folk stage, my Bakersfield stage (actually, I'm kind of still in that one), and now I'm doing a lot of bluegrass flatpicking and getting into some jazz.

Right now, I'm really digging guys like Rhett Butler, Dan Holloway, Pete Huttinger, Bill Patrick, and I just can't seem to stop listening to Matt Cowe.
