  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

and the answer would be,,,,,,,, 'the apotheosis of light.' i have no idea what that means, nor why it got named that but after the symphony was published that was what it was named. some symphonies are named things and we either don't know what the name is, or in the case of mozart's jupiter symphony, we know what it is named but have no idea why it was named that. but it's all interesting stuff.

Vivaldi Rules!
Sure you have all heard of his Four Seasons.(Which are amazing) but if you want to hear really good pieces listen to some of his choral workds like the Gloria in D minor and his Magnificat (can't remember the key)
They are Amazing!

Oh my goodness, this is soooo tough, I know I'm gonna forget loads, but I'll give it a go....

To sing: Mozart, Puccini, Gershwin, Rossini, Bizet

To play on piano: DEBUSSY hands down! also Brahms, Scriabin, and Bach if I'm in the right mood for it!

To play on violin: Brahms, Bach, Vivaldi

To listen to: all the above, plus Rachmaninoff, Elgar, Saint-Saens, Grieg, Handel, Shostakovich, Part, Mahler, ok i'm gonna stop now, this is much too hard :p
