Favorite Composer?

Mendelssohn was almost the second Mozart, too. It's weird he's not as well known.

I'd have to say Bach and Handel are some of my favorites. Vivaldi is close behind. Nothing like the Four Seasons.

Ravel is really something! My greetings to all those who voted for him.

Pavane, Sonatine, Le Tombeau de Couperin or the slow movement of the Piano Concerto.... - it is all wrapped in this peaceful and mysterious melancholy... Truly elegant, beautiful and refined music!

Of the ones listed, my favorites are Bach (definitely) and Handel. Of unlisted ones, I also like Buxtehude, Scarlatti, Gesualdo, and some of Mendelssohn's piano works.

Definately Tchaikovsky. The violin concerto in D is absolutely stunning! Especially its incredibly virtuosic final movement. Also all of his ballets, Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, etc. Granted, Tchaikovsky was a rather messed up individual in his personal life, but aren't most great composers?
