  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Francine Rivers.. hands down. I have read all of her books once, many twice and one I have read at least 5 times. And I'm thiking it's about time to read it again and let God challenge me again through it. Probably not much reading for most guys, unless you like some that have a tad romance (in some, not all). All of her books draw from the Word of God and challenge me to no end.

Ayn Rand ( ), Kurt Vonnegut, Tim O'Brien, and JD Salinger.

Nice list, except for Ayn Rand. I haven't read any of her stuff yet. I haven't really had the time, since her books are so huge. I have heard a lot of good things about Atlas Shrugged and The Fountainhead, though. I love Vonnegut and Salinger. Slaughterhouse Five is one of my favorite books ever.

Thank you. :) The Fountainhead is so-so but Atlas Shrugged is amazing. Probably my favorite book. And yes, Slaughterhouse Five is incredible. I love Vonnegut's satire.

"Anthem" is a good book from Rand but I was a little too young when i read it to fully understand her message.

Anthem was the first book of hers I read as well. It's alright. It's really basic though. It's the very beginnings of her philosophy, so not a lot is really explained yet. Personally, I think Atlas Shrugged is where it's at. No one really needs to read any of her other stuff, just go straight to Atlas Shrugged.

James Byron Huggins would be first. Followed closely by Frank Peretti, Ted Dekker and a few others. I have several others authors that I want to read, but have not started yet. I have a long list of books to read.

Anyone like any good Christian Thrillers? Sci-Fi and Suspense? Any Suggestions? ;)
