Beer of the month club membership. He'll get to try some new ones, but it won't be your fault if he doesn't like one. And you can order the membership online and come up with a simple way to let him know. Shopping done.

We stopped giving gifts for father's day and mother's day. We do give cards or handmade cards. We do cook each other's favorite foods and make them feel appreciated.

If you feel you must give a gift, make it a whale watching trip, a neat class they have been dreaming of (dance, skill based or language), trip on an antique train, go to a baseball game and so on. We used to handmake a "coupon" for a special thing like this and give that.
