Bio: Farid was a wanderer with his family, when he was 8, when they were sneaked into a circus act. They were not caught, and got a front row seat. In the middle of the circus, a fire-eater caught young Farid's eye, and he had Farid's undivided attention. Amazed as the fire-eater seemingly threw air into the air and caught it in his mouth, he needed a helper from the crowd, but only to hold something. Maybe it was chance, or the fire-eater already knew who he was going to pick as a helper, but that moment changed his life. His hand raised, the fire-eater walked over to him, and nodded at him, acknowledging Farid. Behind him, a girl started weeping. Farid was all grins, and he mostly leaped with joy. Jumping over that small wall in the front row, he bounced along with fire-eater's side. His name was Aires. Letting him hold his bottle, Aires performed many tricks, winking at him as Farid took a try with Aires permission. Amazingly, the fire was totally tame, and Farid let it leap into the air, gulped it down, and produced another small flame from thin air. In all his enjoyment, he hadn't noticed that he simply conjured the fire up from thin air. Aires smiled and nodded, approving, and all eyes were upon Farid. As he gulped the fire and held it in his mouth for a few minutes and 'spat' it out onto his hand, Aires was dumbfounded. Even he couldn't do that. He was amazed, and watched Farid's face, the fire casting an orange glow on it. His face was the picture of full enjoyment. He had a huge grin on his face, and Aires was ashamed to tell him to stop because the fire turn was over. As he whispered that, clowns were already coming in the ring, throwing pies, having buckets of water and spilling it over each other, and just being their clumsy ol' selves. Farid returned to his seat, still thinking about the fire and how he tamed it so. His family(father and sister) were dumbstruck. After the acts, Aires asked if Farid could be his apprentice. Farid wanted to join, but his family let go of him only after some persuasion from Aires and Farid. He learned much from Aires, and Aires learned even more from Farid. They became friends, and had a good life. When he was 14, he had a girlfriend while they stayed in a city for a good while, and they got really close. One night, before a performance, his girlfriend broke up with him because there was another boy who had much more money then him. Farid was very angry, and during his turn at the circus, his emotions let loose and the tame fire spread out in a thin layer around him, catching onto the grass. The fire spread, and only Farid and Aires were safe, Aires because Farid protected him and Farid because he controlled, generally, the fire and its direction for the most part. All the people clapped, hearing about the amazing tricks this fire-eater could do, and thought it was part of the performance. But after it got dangerously close to the bleachers, the people fled safely. Holding back the fire tired Farid greatly, and he had to let go. The familiar crackling and popping of burning came to his ears, and he walked out silently from the main tent, with Aires behind him, as the fire parted when Farid passed. Exiting, police were already there, and they fired some shots at Aires and Farid, thinking they were the arsonist. Aires got hit by a bullet full in the chest, and right then Farid was blind with anger. He pretty much threw fire at the police, and they scrambled to get out of the way. After that, they were struck with fear and kept to the shadows, letting him pass. Farid quickly ran out to the lower part of the city, and hid in the alleys for a month. Each day, he thought of his girl, thinking how she would feel when she heard the news. The whole city was still buzzing with it, and all the newspapers had that headline. No one was hurt, reporters had said. But one police man who was a bit slow got scorched, but not much. He would be limping for a couple of weeks. After that, Farid kept to himself and started wandering, fending for himself and going as a thief, only using his power when he needed some money, and he gave a small show. But he restricted himself greatly, limiting his power to starting a campfire to heat water, or in the winter to keep him warm. He got picked up by a pair of men, and is going to graduate from the school.
