God bless you too. I'm a firm believer in entire sanctification/Christian perfection.
I also believe that The 10 commandments are relevant, although Jesus gave us 2 new commandments, in which the 10 are encapsulated
Sorry if I assumed incorrectly, I was the only one who quoted James so I thought you were responding to what I posted.Oh no, sorry. I didnt even see your quote. I was just making the point that religious works aren't the way to salvation-they're a distraction.
My thread idea was a quest to alert people about false conversion, and perhaps find others who know a bit about this concept. I was keen to learn more.
Total depravity, and the need for a saviour springs to mind
Would you mind quoting the two new commandments you are referring to? I don’t want to assume anything.

Do you think obeying God’s law means you don’t have a need for a Savior? Sorry if I don’t understand what you are referring to and I try not to make assumptions. Thanks in advance for clarifying!
I think this follows along the lines of your topic. Having faith, but doing the will of man and not the will of God. Even the demons believe in God, but what does having faith mean? Faith does not void out the law of God but it establishes the law. Romans 3:31Many do. Jesus said repent and believe
That’s what I thought and thanks for clarifying Did you know Jesus was quoting from the Old Testament and these are not new commandments?Matthew 22:34
But when the Pharisees heard that He had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered together. 35 Then one of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him, and saying, 36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?”
37 Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”
That’s what I thought and thanks for clarifying Did you know Jesus was quoting from the Old Testament and these are not new commandments?
Deuteronomy 6:5 You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.
Leviticus 19:18 but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord.
These commands do not delete the Ten Commandments, they hang on all the Law and the Prophets. The first 4 commandments personally written by God teach us how to love God and the last six written on the second tablet written personally by God is how we are to love our neighbor. These laws placed in the ark of the covenant in the Most Holy of the Temple of God, are now written in our hearts and is also revealed in heaven. Revelation 11:19
God
Everything we have is because of God, which includes our faith, our obedience to Him and deliverance from sin. It’s up to us to accept or not accept this gift by being doers of the Word.Im getting off topic, but I love that Jesus added 'mind' (volition-youngs).
An act of 'will' goes without saying, and as sin is birthed in the mind, we need to take every thought captive to obey Christ...but I also believe that deliverance from sin, by His divine power, gives Him all of the glory
Glory to The LordI am not one hundred percent sure if I'm converted but I have gone for the whole year of 2022 so far without committing a certain sin that I was frequently doing. I have continued to thank God for giving me the strength to resist the temptation.
