  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What would you have any of us do? If you reached out to your local congregation and they can not help you even find help for you in your area.. What are we to do? send money? Like you said everyone is one check away or scam away from being homeless, and if you couple that with the fact your home congregation who knows you best will not help you in anyway.. then how could you ask strangers to buy you out of your dilemma?

This situation raises too many red flags. We offer help in the way prayers and advise, and it not what your looking for. You seem to be holding your faith for ransom.. Rusty/Ervin this is a giant red flag. I doubt anyone will meet your demands, but that doesn't mean God doesn't love you nor does it mean that all of what you are going thru is of his design, to help you grow in your faith.. It may seem hopeless, and the suffering may seem relentless, but if you do share a relationship with God all of this has a purpose. Even if you don't have a relationship with him, all of this can be seen as a way of showing you where you truthfully stand with him..

I have seen, people go thru what you are going thru, and i know there is help to be had, if one truly wants it.. but most of the time help is abandoned because the "cost" in pride is too high. You may want help, but is seems on your own terms. in the way of a unwanted motor home or financial aid. I know if this is a pride thing my words will seem intolerable, they are not fill with pop christian philosophy or a desire to bail you out.. But, it is with harsh love and real respect do I tell you these things. I'm being honest in the way I think you are being perceived, and how your posts come across.

I know you may feel you are in very desperate times, if you truly are, then goto your church and ask for any direction they can give you.. Not a bail out or a motor home.. but any help maybe even another church or some phone number to call. Humility comes to mind.. It's hard to turn away a truly humble man when he's in need. So goto them with a humble heart and seek help, none of this holding your faith for ransom mess..
