Faithfulness

Micah 6:8 (NASB)

He has told you, O man, what is good;
And what does the Lord require of you
But to do justice, to love kindness,
And to walk humbly with your God?

Christianity isn't a religion of "what to do" but "who to be". Unlike pagan religions which require a set of achievements before we're considered worthy, Christianity and Christ require only one thing from us, faithfulness. The service we render unto the Lord and humanity overflows from that faithfulness and not the other way around.

The pastor at my church often says that the Bible is not a rule book. While there are many guidelines on how to appropriately behave, the Bible is not meant for behavior modification. The Bible is a story of redemption, mercy and salvation, that's the true Gospel and overall message.
