  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Did you when you wre pregnant feel faint or actually faint?

what did you do about it?

during my last pregnacy i felt faint and i rather than fainting i used to get very dizzy and i wouldnt be able to see. my eyes would kind of blck out and it would take a minute to et my vison back after i sat down.

last time they said there was nothing wrong with me. the ony answer the could come up with that my blood pressure must have went very low for a few mins then got better.

well it happened again this morning about 5 mins after i got out of bed. (it wasnt just a head rush i was up a good while before i felt dizzy) but then my vision went black and i went and lay in my bed till i recovered. which took a few mins.

its the holiday weekend here so the midwifes are off i would need to go in to the hospital "to be checked out" but i kno what they are gonna say it ill be the same as last time. and i really dont want to stay in over night it my sons birthday tomorrow and i dont want to miss it. (the thought makes me cry but im to hormonal)

i have an appointment on tuesday to see the midwife.

i dono want to go to the hospital cause they said the last time theres nothing up but the will keep me in because ive bee quite sick over the past few days (which is normal for me)

im just rambling cause im upset.

The only two times in my life I've ever fainted were when I was pregnant.

Once I had just gotten out of a hot bath...I'm assuming the shift in temperature from the hot water to the cool air did it. I made it to the bed before I blacked out and fell. I was only just a few weeks pregnant then...maybe 2 months.

The second I was out fishing with my family on a pretty hot summer day. I guess I got too hot (again) and everything started to go black in front of my eyes...my husband caught me before I fell down. I was 8 months pregnant that time.

Anyway, as long as it's not happening all the time, I think it's fairly normal. Just pay more attention to your transitions, and try not to shock your body...get out of bed slowly, avoid rapid shifts or extremes in temperature, etc.

 It is scary, but I really think that fainting is fairly common in pregnancy.

Fainting is really common during pregnancy. It can happen once, a lot, never... with one pregnancy but not another... It has to do with blood pressure, blood sugars, hormones...

I was dizzy with one of my pregnancies. It was terrible. I'd be fine one second and dizzy enough to feel a wave of nausea the next. Then it would pass and I'd be fine again. It only happened during my first trimester though, thank goodness.

The first time I was only 8 weeks...the second time I was around 36 weeks. It just depends on the pregnancy, I think.

 Hang in there.

There is a nerve that the baby compresses at times that can cause you to pass out. My only suggestion is to change positions slowly... if it is your blood pressure dropping when you change positions, then that could help. Lay down when you need to lay down.

im only like 13/14 weeks so the baby wont really be lying in any nerves would it?

and i try to lye down all day when i can.

a good bit of pregnancy advice i was given
"why stand when you can sit,
why sit when you lie down?"

and trust me i live by it. i go in to all my friends house and just lie down on the couch...

It happened to me during my last pregnancy. I also asked the docs about it, and they said maybe I needed to eat more protein or ?...they didn't know and didn't seem bothered to find out. I did try different things to make it better. No matter what I ate and how much, it would happen several times a week, usually in the early to mid-morning some time, but not limited to mornings. It was awful, especially when it would happen while I was out, because I needed to lay down.
