  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Well, I found one of the 800 or 900 theatres playing the movie this weekend (it's actually just a block from my apartment). I was amazed that people were lined up for tickets 2 hours before the show started. THey packed the theatre.

The film is an imperfect argument, but makes the points that it does make very well. I am disheartened by the greed displayed; what do people need with all that money?

The film is exactly what one would expect if one is familiar with his other works. My only word of caution: there are some wartime pictures, including a dead baby (maybe 18, 24 months), various quick shots of blood and mangled limbs, and a few shots of the charred corpses of American soldiers. That's probably the only truly objectionable content.

It's defnintely a film everyone'll have a strong, even visceral reaction to, and many here will probably think it's tripe, but I liked it, eventhough it was disturbing and depressing, despite some genuinely humorous moments.

THIS MOVIE IS REALLY GOOD.ALL THESE PEOPLE ARE AFRAID OF THE TRUTH I HAVE SEEN IT TWICE!AMERICA AND ITS COWARDLY GOVERNMENT HAS DONE NOTHING BUT TOTAL DESTRUCTION IN THIS WORLD AND FIRST SEE THE MOVIE THEN JUDGE IT.

Wow... afraid of the truth are we? that just sounds like a cowardly attack... when you debate you do not debate the people you debate the ideas that they say are true... that's just a bit of debating courtesy... you don't call the person an idiot... you call what they say idiotic... or else people get all defensive and start flaming each other and the thread gets shut down

I'm not afraid to say that (IMHO) Bush did a lot better of a job than Gore would have done... not everything he has done I agree with... but I'll support him as long as he is my president

dominated by the rich...like michael moore the multi-millionaire?

i'm pretty sure chugging draino will be painful without going through with it personally ;) i know the qualities of draino from previous experience using it and from reading about it. same goes with Moore. i've experienced his efforts before and i've read about him. (and i've seen trailers for his new movie)

i'm still waiting for it to hit cable, multi-millionaire fat cat moore doesn't need any of my hard earned cash :D

That is a funny statement coming from a nation that only exists because america has defended you. You are nothing more than a midget hiding behind our coattails.....

It is quite sad to see how some feel the need to demean someone else’s home to feel better about their own.

I don’t even want to know how you feel about the people of Mexico.

I'm going to wait till it comes out on DVD. That way I can pause it, replay it, take notes, and check out everything Moore passes off as 'fact'. In a movie, one can say whatever they want, (unchallenged mind you), manipulate facts, and stretch the truth in order to have the audience draw the intended conclusions.

the information is interesting, and it's important for both sides to come out so that people can make up their own mind instead of believing whatever they are told. Sure he doesn't always do it in the best way, but the 'facts' whether or not one believes them to be accurate are now out

Also, intentionally ommitting facts, (which would change the entire direction of drawn conclusions), is one of the main strategies Moore has used in his past 'documentaries'. I have seen 'Roger & Me' and 'Bowling for Columbine'. Moore has not been completely honest in either.

BTW, the people who rely on these 'documentaries' to be better informed on the issues, should stay away from the voting booths. :p

Bottom line, from knowing what Moore stands for, from seeing two of his other 'documentaries', and from seeing all the previews and hype for this one, "FAHRENHEIT 9/11" looks like one more case of a like-minded, feel-good movie .... a real preach to the choir "propagandumentary". I made that word up, but I think it may fit. :p

I'll still see the movie....after it comes out on DVD. :)

Where is everyone who is in the movie, I don’t see them stepping up calling it a bunch of lies.

If they weren’t the truth wouldn’t you think that “the ones focused on in the movie” would be calling Moore out on it? I am pretty sure that they would know of the movie by now.

I can only speak for myself. I have not seen it yet. I will wait until it comes out on DVD so I can thoroughly analyze it. :)

i've done a little looking around for the "facts" about this movie. right now, it is primarily conservative sites, but in time maybe more objective sites will start breaking the movie down. i don't want to judge yet, since I haven't seen it, but if it is anything like "Bowling for Columbine"...

Stay in school or end up like Moore. I'm going to make a tshirt that says that. :)
He's such a liar. I have to respect his abilities at editing and propaganda.
Edit: I don't understand why this is being called a documentry. If it started out objective and ended up making bush look bad, that would be a documentry. But when you start off with an agenda, that's prop-o-ganda! (ah, a new name for a taco? I'm going to make $50!)
