He wrote a book called A Tour of the Calculus, which is great reading if you're into math. It's just that he likes being contrary where evolution is concerned. I seriously doubt that he has doubts about evolution, but he gets attention and possibly funding by criticizing it. I don't think he's worth taking seriously.

Yes, I'm familiar with him and that, even though he's an atheist, he oddly works for, or has worked for, the Discovery Institute. I bought one of his popular books back in 2011, I think it was---The Devil's Delusion: Atheism and Its Scientific Pretensions (Crown Forum, 2008). Being the academic that I am, I realized long ago that Berlinski has limited pertinence, as does typically any one single academician all by himself (or herself).

Anyway, thanks for the 'advice.'

So, breaking it down, you're insulted that I accurately and correctly called a historical group of people who lived in the Bronze Age, lived in a desert(ish), knew very little about the wider world around them, and predominately would have herded goats for their sustenance and livelihood, a group of 'Bronze Age, desert dwelling, ignorant, goat herders', and yet for some reason, I and others are not allowed to point out that people saying that any science is done purely for money is slander?

Boy and they call my generation soft-skinned...

Also, I accidentally closed the tab and now your link isn't working.

It's been estimated that a single light sensitive call can evolve into a fully functioning eyeball in 100,000 generations, and has done so dozens of times independently.
An estimate is a glorified guess.

The body uses it, so why wouldn't be?

It uses 0.2 milligrams of gold. Just because it's in the body doesn't mean that it uses it nor that it's necessary, especially when it's such a small amount.

I changed it to Post 47.

So I shall repeat myself:

It used in joints and electrical circuitry

Yes, in electronics, but not in the human body. Your posts suggested that you were saying that gold is a necessary part of human evolution and evolution as a whole. Electronics is not a part of evolution.

Like you did here?

POST 47
That's not an insult, it's a fact. I've worked with groups like that in developing countries and find them just as likely to be intelligent and of good character as anyone here. If anything, they are smarter about creating a culture well-adapted to their environment than we are.

*That said, they tend now to make stuff out of scrap car parts and tin cans, because bronze is expensive and hard to get. ;)

Then why were they called "ignorant"?

The humanbody is one large machine full of circuitry and electricity, gold helps it run smoothly.
