That's a lie, and you know it.

Why would I "suggest" an atheist burn in Hell?

That's like suggesting water is wet.

And for the record, you're making it sound like being an atheist is the unpardonable sin.

Atheists can (and do) get saved.

Remember the old saying?

"There are no atheists in foxholes."

Yes -- your sister will burn in Hell if she dies as an atheist.

But not because she was an atheist at one time and changed her mind.

Well, AV, you've definitely set the pace for those of us who want to avoid fulfilling Jesus' warning where He said, "Who unto you when all men speak well of you ..." :sorry:

Interacting with AV has given me more than enough insight into what an Independent Baptist is. And I thank Lord Almighty that they do not exist in the UK or if they do in small enough numbers to be near enough anonymous.

Albeit not an Independent Baptist, per se, we hold Charles Spurgeon in high esteem.

That's one man I'm looking forward to meeting.

It would be nice if he'd actually engage the fuller sources behind evolutionary arguments rather than treating the interaction like just another day at the skeet shoot. AV: PULL !!! ^_^

I never argue with a scientist on his level, else he will beat me to death with his knowledge.

Yes -- your sister will burn in Hell if she dies as an atheist.
You repeat your original abusive assertion, yet you claim @sjastro is lying by calling you on it??

You are one confused individual.

You are one confused individual.

As I remember the conversation, sjastro told me his sister did some nice things for others, and how good she was, etc.

BUT, he said she is an atheist.

Then he asked me if I thought she should burn in Hell for being an atheist, despite all the good she has done.

I replied that she will burn in Hell if she dies as an atheist.

Now he's saying I suggested his sister should burn in Hell for being an atheist.

If she's an atheist now, she runs the risk of ending up in Hell.

You're "one heartbeat away from Hell," as the saying goes.

But there's still time for her to repent and get saved before she dies.

And if [prayerfully] she does repent, I am not suggesting she goes to Hell for being (or more appropriately, having been) an atheist.

In fact, I know she's going to Heaven.

So why would I suggest otherwise?

I don’t know what I believe about Hell anymore, there are different views and Eternal Conscious Torment is a tough pill to swallow but as a Christian we shouldn’t take pleasure in anyone going there and we should be trying to prevent it, not cheering it on.
When I was a believer, I'd say, "God may send people to hell, but he weeps over each and every one."

It is a pernicious doctrine.

That’s consistent with what most denominations teach although I never say someone is going to Hell because that’s God’s decision not mine.
If she’s an atheist she doesn’t believe in Hell anyway and probably just dismissed it.
But I don’t think telling someone that they’re going to Hell will win them over. Some Christians use that approach though.

You're still massively confused.

If someone dies an atheist, its you telling them they'll burn in hell .. in the present .. ie: before they actually die .. because they hold no beliefs in what you think God is saying.

Then you double down, and dig youself in even deeper, by accusing someone else, who's correctly interpreted what you clearly said, as being a liar!!!?

It would be like if I told you my sister does charity work for the Red Cross, works soup kitchens, and gives money to the poor.

Then I told you she is an atheist though; and asked you where you thought she would go when she dies.

Well ... if she dies as an atheist, she will indeed end up in Hell.

But if she repents before she dies, she will end up in Heaven.

It's that simple.

Some Christians use that approach though.

I don't go door-to-door anymore, but I when I did, I was cordial and avoided verbal confrontations where possible.

When I got pulled into one though, all gloves came off.

.. and so you attempt to shove that belief down the throats of atheists, (perhaps, even on their deathbeds), in order for you to satisfy your own selfish greed to be right and make them wrong?

And you think that's upholding the principles of Christian principles?

Whatever happened to respecting others' beliefs? Pfftt!!

.. and so you attempt to shove that belief down the throats of atheists,

I have a feeling any atheist who has spent any time here already knows that belief.

In fact, do you personally know any atheists who don't realize that we believe they'll go to Hell if they die as one?

Would you rather I "shove down their throats" that God will make exceptions for their unbeliefs, as long as they do good in life?

That won't happen.

(perhaps, even on their deathbeds),

I'm glad you brought that up.

I'm second to none here in believing Darwin is in Heaven; because I choose to believe the Lady Hope story is true.

And I've taken a lot of flack for it too.

... in order for you to satisfy your own selfish greed to be right and make them wrong?

It's not a matter of greed.

Greed is a sin.

It's a matter of doctrine.

And you think that's upholding the principles of Christian principles?

Saying an atheist should repent, lest they end up in Hell?

You bet I do.

Whatever happened to respecting others' beliefs? Pfftt!!

I do respect their beliefs.

That's why I consider them a mission field.

You could offer them heaven instead of threatening them with hell, but I suppose that's just not your style.

AV, I think we both know that it's also possible for a person to be a theist and die and also go to the place where the Son doesn't shine.

So, harping as you do solely on the mindsets and outlooks and presence of atheists (many of whom are really Ex-Christians) probably isn't very productive, all things considered.
