My avatar is Calvin form the Calvin and Hobbes comics. I picked it because 1) I've always been a big C&H fan. 2) At the time I signed on I had a short, neat haircut very similar to the one Calvin has in the pic and 3) his mildly amused look is probably pretty close to how I look most the time I'm on here.

I was a MAD fan as a kid. It's not on his Wiki page, and I've been scouring the internet for weeks now and found nothing. Where did you get the middle name of "Enigma" from?

Just for kicks, I'd like to create a thread where we can explain our avatars and maybe lighten things up a bit.

Mine is the Hertzsprung-Russell diagram, which plots the luminosities of the stars against their temperature. It was first plotted independently by Ejnar Hertzsprung and Henry Norris Russell in about 1911, and is now one of the foundations of stellar physics.
