I can't for the life of me understand this fixation on Kent Hovind.

The answer is pretty obvious if you pick up the right newspaper. its a distraction from the many instances of fraud in the ahem "acceptable" science community

These are classic cases of deflection, when someone is unable to answer a charge against them, similar to: you're fat, they answer with: yes but I'm not as fat as he/she is, creationists do this as a matter of course, when they are asked questions they can not answer they ask a question, when charged with doing something they react by pointing at something else, children do it when accused of doing something wrong they point at others and say they were not as bad as they were.Which is to say nothing of how the world saw them when they lost most of a continent who they now end up following rather than leading.
