  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I can't understand what you mean. I don't really get the "evolutionist" label. Generally, a "-ism" is an ideology. I'm no more an "evolutionist" than I'm a "geometrist", or an "electronist". I think there are atoms, and that they are made of smaller bits, some of which we call electrons, which can move from one atom to another in a way useful for making things like flashlights and computers, but it's not an *ideology*. I think that life forms evolve, and that this is probably how the diversity of life we see today formed, but that's not an *ideology*.

As to Creation, I dunno what you mean. I don't think God poofed everything into existance in a week. I tend to assume that He made everything, but I don't care much about the details.

The bible says that a day to the Lord is as a thousand yrs.

I'm just curious to see where those that believe in evolution believe everything FIRST started from... What form?

I think we're running into a basic communications problem; many of them *do not have a belief about this*. The just don't have an answer to that.

What do you believe was the first name ever used by a Japanese person? I have no idea. I can't describe any way to find this out.

Now, imagine that someone has a story in which the first Japanese person is named Hamtaro. (Yes, I know it's an unlikely choice.) This person then berates me soundly; how can I reject his theory? What do *I* think the first Japanese person was named?

A lot of people who believe in evolution believe that God made everything. A lot of them just have no opinion at all. There are also a number of theories about how universes come to be... but I think you'll be frustrated as long as you're expecting everyone to have an answer to every question.
