So whether it it is a tipard or a tigopard or somthing else, people can parse what it is made of.

You fix that branch on your family tree, but most branches are fine.

When two branches are found when there should only be one, the later one is trimmed, and any information not already on the older branch is added in to the old branch. For example brontosaurus. It is the same as apatosaurus, so its branch was pruned.

I would have thought all knowledge is useful no matter what the subject, surly the more knowledge we have about something the better we are able to discuss it? I can never talk about stamp collecting because I know nothing about it, if I ever did want to talk about it I would make it my business to learn something about it.

Why do you assume Christians are anti-science? Many of our earliest scientists were Christians who were driven by the fact that because this universe was created by an intelligent God that there was order and relationships in the created universe that were discoverable. There would be no such expectation if the universe were the result of random chance.

Yes, traditionally a zeal for science was triggered by a faith in a rational God and obedience to Paul's advice to study the "gospel of nature." But there has also always been a reactionary movement opposed to such exploration, or at the very least opposed to disminating any new knowledge gained by those explorations to the common man. That for most people, church dogma alone was more than sufficient. And those reactionary forces often used the earthly branches of the Church Militant to enforce this opinion. The Spanish Inquisition is gone, and the Grand Inquisition does not have the sweeping powers it once had, but the reactionary forces have learned more subtle ways to intimidate the sheep among their flocks.
