I happen to believe in evolution. My point is that this does not make me any less of a Christian than a creationist. I can accept Genesis as allegory while still believing in the truth of God's Word and the salvation of Jesus Christ.
I'm not suggesting that we stifle the debate. I am suggesting that believing in evolution and being a true Christian are entirely compatible.
Bravo! Yes, the theory of evolution does not refute Christianity.
What creationists cannot seem to get a handle on is that if God is real he created the Earth too. And the Earth, both present day and in the fossil record, tells us that we are the product of evolution. By sticking to a literal Genesis they are in effect calling God a liar.
I always thought that it was the height of blasphemy for creationists to tell God how he had to make the Earth.
