Seeing as how the Torah is a Jewish text, I was curious how Jews feel about allegorical vs literal interpretation of Genesis.
It seems that all but the most conservative Jewish sects are fine with evolution:

Even Maimonides, the 12th century Jewish scholar, was cool with interpreting scripture as allegory when presented with scientific evidence:

@xianghua - Your profile says you are Jewish, what's your take? Mine is that science suggests evolution occurred. I have no problem believing that God created the universe, used evolution as His tool, and imbued us with souls.
