Historians are scientists, are they?

No wonder you guys claim there was no global flood, or exodus from Egypt, or resurrection, etc.; it's science now.

Don't you just hate it when you take a great amount of time an effort to reply to a post and the person you are replying to just ignores what you posted?
Like about 19 challenges I came up with, along with all their attendant questions, remarks, and sub-points that were not addressed?

I know, sounds crazy to expect there to be just one shred of evidence to support the "history" of over one million jews living in a ten square mile of desert for forty years. That's just crazy.

Like the Hittite Empire scientists swore never existed, until it did?

Or the Medes?

An 11 day journey which took over forty years, now there is something to ponder, and in all the desert
not even a sandal, or article of clothing found?

Deuteronomy 29.5
And I have led you forty years in the wilderness: your clothes are not waxen old upon you, and thy shoe is not waxen old upon thy foot.

Such a minor chore for such an awesome God.

I'll give you the sandals and clothes, but I'll need to see bones, tents, tent stakes, pots, jewelry, religious artifacts, and just about anything else over one million people would need to exist in ten square miles for forty years.

Nope. Like the Jewish one that over one million Jews lived for forty years in a ten square mile area.

BTW, I'm not saying it didn't exist. I'm just saying there's no evidence to support the claim. See the difference?

I am sure the bones are there, but in the desert which is pretty barren, would you not take every thing with you that you had, for it would all be valuable?

LOL

Take bones, tents, tent stakes, pots, jewelry, religious artifacts, and other stuff and place them in a 10-mile radius of Los Angeles --- then go back in just one week and see if there's anything left.

<http //www ioa ucla edu>

How about taking all that and shoving it in a den of evil and SCIENCE, then going back in one week. I bet you'd not only find that it still exists, but that we also learn a little bit about the culture from studying these tents, stakes, pots, etc.

I'm sorry --- I didn't understand this.

My point is, others would have taken everything that wasn't nailed down out there in the desert.

Especially the Amalekites, the elite desert warriors.

Because the world's a small place after all, and we never find anything leftover from any ancient desert societies?
Okay, so you find a pot or two out there --- big deal.

You could just claim someone on a caravan dropped it.

Well, at least you didn't say God cleaned it up -- or was that going to be your "trump card"?

Especially the Amalekites, the elite desert warriors.

That's right, AV -- warriors, not scavengers.

Why settle for picking up trash when it's more lucrative to go after the source?

If the situation warrants it.

They did go after the source and paid the consequences.

I'm sure they enjoyed it though when a whole generation died right in their backyard; and I have no doubt they cleaned up after them as well.

Would you want graves in your backyard?

Except that there's no archeological evidence that would distinguish the Amalekites from Edomites or other semites. And the only 'historical' accounts of them were written by those who despised them the most, the very same who claimed to have destroyed them all at their merciful deity's command.

Keep looking.

Um ... no.
Exodus 17:16 said:
For he said, Because the LORD hath sworn that the LORD will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.
