I agree (again) with AVET (oh no!!). Some of you guys recently have been abusing the term "troll." I don't think dad is a troll. He is intransigent, arrogant, and ignorant of what he critsizes so freely, but that does not make him a "troll."

I just think he's boring... and insane. Boringly insane.

Except that a troll posts only to get a rise out of people --
And you don't?

These guys read your posts as well, and for they to accuse dad of being a troll when there's a much better example ... well, they can scratch their heads then when we ignore them.

You guys can talk about us all you want, but until you learn to use the mirror, we'll take you with a grain of salt.

I should be -- I get asked the same questions over and over and over.

I would have to make something up, just to break the mold.

ETA:  -- Oh, sorry; you guys were talking about someone else.

.

By the same token, I suppose we could have what's called 'technoheresy' -- or the intrusion into God's church of technological explanations contrary to the Bible.

There are three men who try to get into our churches from the grave: Charles Darwin, Sigmund Freud, and Albert Einstein -- who wouldn't enter them in life, but are now trying from beyond.
Excuse me, AVET, but shouldn't this be the other way around? Creationists try to insert their religious dogma into science. Most scientists, on the other hand, don't care about what you guys teach in Sunday school.

..just so long as it stays in Sunday school where it belongs.

These guys should get jobs in theatres, they are so dedicated to projection.

Its kind of a marvel, the lack of self awareness.

And you don't?

Nope -- I promote education over ignorance; most trolls see very little beyond themselves.

These guys read your posts as well, and for they to accuse dad of being a troll when there's a much better example ... well, they can scratch their heads then when we ignore them.

You have an intersting tendancy to refer to yourself in the plural, AV -- you might want to look into that.

You guys can talk about us all you want, but until you learn to use the mirror, we'll take you with a grain of salt.

AV, you come here for attention, and nothing else -- do you honestly believe that anyone else cares what you (and you alone) do or do not take with a grain of salt?

I think that some of them are (at least subconsciously) very self aware, and would prefer not to discuss their own deficiencies in a public forum.

This is why evolution must be a lie -- if it were true, then their own interpretation of the Bible must be wrong -- and most of these folk don't wanttheir own fallibility dragged out into the light of day.

Unsubstantiated according to whose standards? yours?

We consider the Bible to be the final Authority for faith and practice.

For substantiation of a claim, we look to the Bible, not a computer paradigm or blueprint drawn up by unregenerate men.

Do you know what psychoheresy is?

It is the intrusion of psychological paradigms into God's church.

I consider this to be the problem with your reasoning, IMO.

Especially since folks like AV and his ilk have no problems with adding to the Bible when its authority is not "final" enough.
Yes, I have noticed how AV likes to construct a nice cozy, warm and fuzzy blanket of interpretation to keep him warm.

Possibly. If it were self-replicating molecules, I'm not sure that would necessarily count as evolution, since those molecules probably wouldn't count as life (as we define it now). It would be some similar sort of process, but not necessarily the same process.
The normal usage of the term would certainly cover those replicators. In vitro evolution is called evolution, after all.

I have noticed a tendancy among creationists here to take Man out of the equation.
Man writes scripture.
Man transcribes scripture.
Man translates scripture.
Man interpretes scripture.
But, scripture is God's Inerrant Wisdom, in direct contrast to "Man's Wisdom."

they should try it themselves! Listen to a guy speak for a few minutes then wait 30 years and write it down verbatim.

As Paul put it:

1 Corinthians 14:37 If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.

1 Thessalonians 2:13 For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.

I like what my pastor says: 'Man isn't smart enough to write the Bible'.
