It's just hard not to respond because I don't want the stupidity to perpetuate. It's the main reason why I post here. I don't want there to be more idiots made from idiots, then have those idiots to go on and influence what my children are learning in school. You're right, Hesp... Though this probably just means I'm being paranoid.

From my pov, you just lend legitimacy when you respond, like if the president responded to an internet rumour that he is gay, say.

Also, it provides a platform for them to post their perpetuations.

I comment sometimes on something that one of the igged ones say, if I see it quoted in a post of someone else/s.

Honestly tho if you have someone so poorly grounded as to believe in 'different states' or the water from the flood going to neptune to shine as a warning beacon against incoming rogue angels, you are not talking to someone amenable to reason. A person who is will laugh; the others will hear of such, nod and say, i guess, baaaa baaaa.

That's true -- you wouldn't want kids learning the Bible in one class, then going down the hall the next period and learning how to place a prophylactic on a cucumber, would you?

You're correct on the first one, but the second one -- I would most definitely prefer sex education being taught without the teacher actually exposing themselves to the class. So the cucumber would be one preferred alternative.

Right on. teens are always gonna be having sex. It's all about teaching them how to be responsible so they don't get STD's or pregnant.

If they're fornicating -- believe me -- they're responsible, whether you teach them or not.

If you're a 14-15 year old having sex, it's not certain you know enough about the dangers of not protecting yourself. There's a lot of things teens doesn't know much about. I remember back when we had sexual education in school, a lot of weird questions were asked lol

Everything. We talked about being responsible right? and being responsible is knowing the right things and protecting yourself

Or did I misunderstand what you wrote?

Don't worry about it too much. He's merely conflating the word "responsible" to change the subject.

I can tell I still have a lot to learn about this site and the people on it ;)

You'll get to know the nuts and bolts of the forum, if you stick around long enough. And if you're smart, you'll be able to hold your tongue much more often than I do

Haha i don't doubt that. I tend to lose patience as well once and awhile ;)

which other sub forums besides this one is worth posting in?

I like the Philosophy, ethics and morality, and the physical sciences one. Some people enjoy discussing politics; not my cup of tea.

Just remember that there are lots of forums that are "Christian-only" so as an atheist you're not permitted to post there. You can read them, and they can make a good read sometimes, but you can't really contribute.

I generally stick to this place, New and Current Events, and Ethics and Morality. I dabble in the sports section as well.

Yes intelligence
Mr Tyson seems to forget that his preferences do not impel chance to build a man. Even if the gas pedal is close to the brake pedal, saying that it could be far apart still means that the integrated complexity of the car cannot be achieved via purely naturalistic unintelligent processes.

Are you freaking kidding me? I just don't know how to respond to a statement like this. Wow.
You'll get it.

Is this a confusion tactic or something?

1 - I mentioned Spiderman because it takes place in New York and is complete fiction. This was to illustrate that just because stories in the bible take place in real places, it doesn't make it non-fiction. You missed the point entirely.
Man was intelligently designed on earth and verified to be so.

2 - Spiderman is not a transitional form. Spiderman is a fictional comic book character who gained superpowers from radiation (or spider bite, depending on which version you read).
He is a fictional transitional form produced through an impotent mechanism in real world New York.

3 - People are not intelligently designed -- not then, not now.
they are.
Every single person you see walking around was born of naturalistic means. It's called sexual reproduction.
Via instructions encoded in DNA. The reproductive feature is designed. Cars which are more primitive than man utilize a more primitive version with its reproduction feature external, separate and bulky. The factory didn't build itself.

If you've never had this talk with your mom or dad, then I might recommend some books for you to read.
I recommend a video for you to watch

YouTube - Honda Assembly - Just Robots

I can see I've already won the debate when you resort to confusion tactics and trying your hardest to not make sense. Give it up already.

As far as I have been able to discern Greg's postings here are to point out things no rational person believes to be true are, in point of fact, false. From there we somehow wind up with the conclusion evolution is false.

Eggs were around millions of years before any sort of bird, let alone chickens specifically. So the egg came first.

And if what you say is what you think evolutionary theory says, then you don't know what evolutionary theory says.

So let's get this straight...you think that is evolutionary theory? You claim that!? Well, tell your evo brothers next time they try to distance themselves from abiogenesis.

Or are you saying evolution started at a certain point?
