There are lies that spring from the theory. Bubbling mud, "incomprehensible" amounts of time, everything changes, intelligence is an accident, life is a common event.....stuff like that.

None of that makes sense.

How many times have people told you that you don't understand evolution? Here's another.

Creationists do believe in evolution.
They just don't hold it up a deity to worship.

There's quite a lot of creationist here who will take offence to you claiming they believe in evolution.

And I don't know anybody who holds up evolution to worship... do you worship gravity?

If there were wolves on the ark, why not have them evolve into poodles, and coyotes, and foxes etc since then? Nothing unbiblical about that.

There's nothing unbiblical about dinosaurs evolving into birds, either.

So I ask you, please, would you stop harping on this point?
I'll hazard a guess. (Guess what it is)

Or maybe the universe is more like Apple instead of Windows, and science provided both the hardware AND the software...
Why not Linux? Ubuntu is free and looks pretty :p

The OP would have been better if it used "evilution".

One of my favorite threads of all time was when what was apparently an elderly female poster called me a "scientism monkey priest". :)
Someone should draw a comic of that.

There are lies that spring from the theory. Bubbling mud, "incomprehensible" amounts of time, everything changes, intelligence is an accident, life is a common event.....stuff like that.
Lies, eh?

Bubbling mud - I don't even know what that's supposed to mean if it doesn't mean this.

"Incomprehensible" amounts of time is neither a lie nor did it spring from the theory of evolution (the influence is more likely to have gone the other way round). (It's also funny. While we are at incomprehensible, can you really comprehend six millennia?)

Everything changes - what is "everything", and whoever told you that anyway?

Intelligence is an accident - intelligence is considered to be a product of selection. NOT chance. Brains are incredibly expensive. Yours is responsible for something like a fifth of your energy consumption while making up only a few percent of your mass. That kind of waste doesn't evolve unless there's a benefit to it.

Life is a common event - well, first of all, this is a possibility (maybe a probability), no one claims it with certainty. We simply don't know enough about the origin of life to do so. Second, it is a distinct possibility, ergo it's hardly a "lie". Third, has anyone ever told you that abiogenesis != evolution?

Seems to me someone either hasn't a clue what evolution actually says or is doing the very thing he accuses us of doing.

Creationists do believe in evolution.
They just don't hold it up a deity to worship.
Who does?

People enjoy saying things like that. It makes it real easy for them.

It is, huh? try it from my side of the keyboard for awhile.

I love how you essentially view yourself as being this righteous man who takes the burden of dealing with us evil evolutionist-atheists so that the rest of the Christian world can sleep at night. You're the Christian Batman.

And that makes it easy, does it?

Calculus, trig, mathematics -- all a piece of cake, eh?

The only Creationist math I've ever seen has been adding up the ages in Noah's lineage or making straw-man calculations of the probability that proteins will spontaneously assemble.

And I disagree with how you guys assume that being a creationist is a 'piece of cake' that anyone can handle.

There are lies that spring from the theory. Bubbling mud

That doesn't spring from the theory.

, "incomprehensible" amounts of time

That doesn't spring from the theory. The "incomprehensible" amount of time was known long before Darwin came along.

, everything changes

That doesn't spring from the theory. The TOE is not a theory of everything. It only explains life evolving.

, intelligence is an accident

That doesn't spring from the theory. In fact intelligence would require strong selective pressures to evolve, i.e. not chance.

, life is a common event

That doesn't spring from the theory. The TOE explains how and why life evolves once it exists, it doesn't say anything about how often life originates.

.....stuff like that.

None of your examples have sprung from evolution. I suggest you educate yourself about what the theory actually says so you can avoid bearing false witness again.

Peter :)

This is one of the 'sore spots' with me concerning evolution.

Time is a commodity that is either added or subtracted as the need arises.
