Evolution is real, sorry for telling the truth.
Define evolution....

Every thing evolves things evolve right in front of our eyes all the time.

Whoopee do, I see mo monkey teaching at Harvard.
How do you think that birds know how to go south for the winter, they inherited this trait from its parents and those who do not inherit this trait die.

I think that they had a set of instructions...last updated just after the flood...so?

Which is a basic principal of Darwinisim ok. Darwinism is one of the main principals of evolution which is the "survival of the fittest" the best survive who evolved to become better suited for their living conditions these evolved or mutated traits are then passed down to off spring and once all of the non evolved die out new evolutions take place to where species

Blather. Just because a bird evolves, does not mean a bird was once slime...or that it evolved from anything other than a bird.
start looking physically different and they start being mentally different.

Start talking English.
Can you say "yes animals evolve but humans do not" no you cant say that because if you look around the world we all look different and are built different.

All God's creatures once evolved and fast. The evolving is now slow. So?
Afircans are of darker color because the adapted/evolved/mutated to be able to live in the sun we humans have advanced over many generations and just because the bible does not mention something does not mean it does not exist.

Nonsense. You mean that IF evolving were to have went slow and like it does now, THEN it would have taken generations...!

Actually, my computer's calendar is simply the counting of the seconds from a particular moment - 00:00:00, Faraday 25, 1 AT.

(In case you're unfamiliar with the Tranquility Calendar - "Moon Landing Day" happens to be equivalent to July 20, 1969 CE, GMT/UTC, in the secular civil calendar. Outside of that date, there are 13 months of 28 days, plus an "Armstrong Day" falling outside those months, plus, about every four years "Aldrin Day". The months are named Archimedes, Brahe, Copernicus, Darwin, Einstein, Faraday, Galileo, Hippocrates, Imhotep, Jung, Kepler, Lavosier, and Mendel. I personally use a variant of the standard Tranquility for naming of the days of the week: Venusday, Saturnday, Solday, Lunaday, Marsday, Mercuryday, Jupiterday; the 1st day of each month is always a Venusday.)

Today is Saturnday, Imhotep 16, in the year 42 After Tranquility. In other peoples' computers, today's date could be any one of:
yaum al-jum'a, 12 Rabi II 1432 A.H.
Jom'eh, 27 Esfand 1389 AP
yom shishi, 12 Adar II 5771 AM
cycle 78, year Xin-mao, month 2, day 14
2 Mesori 2759
Urbath, 27 Areg 1460
Sukravara, 14 Phalguna 2067 VE
Decade III, Octidi de Ventose de l'Anee 219 de la Republique
12.19.18.3.16
9 Cumku 10 Cib
Face it, it is actually 2011 years after Christ as best the could figure when they made it. All your CE, and moon nonsense is moot, and second fiddle.

All God's creatures once evolved and fast. The evolving is now slow. So?
What's ... ironic ... is to hear people tell you that Jesus was actually healing people with diseases that exist today; or that David died of something that's in vogue today.

I tell them David died of a strange disease, and they're all over that, telling me I'm wrong, and that David* died of something going on now -- as if God hyperevolved a strain of something, killed David with it, then killed the strain off.

* And I could be wrong, but I'd say about half to all of them thought David died of natural causes.

It's amazing how quickly an Internet scientist will become an Internet doctor when you quote the symptoms in Psalm 38 as "strange" and "coming from God".

As an IRL doctor-in-training, I would just like to say that many diseases we have could be described as "strange" or "coming from God" without them being literally some "super disease" that isn't around today. Like I said before, they probably would have been impressed by jaundice.

I use all the actual science, knowledge facts, and records, including God's Own. A well balanced approach that gets results!

Er, what science qualifications do you have again? Did you even do high school science? I don't know what the curriculum is in America but I'm assuming it's not too dissimilar to the O'levels and A'levels I did in secondary school. What equivalent exams have you passed, dad? And did you go on to do further education? Since you claim to use "all the actual science, knowledge" etc it would be useful to guage how much of what you are referring to you have even a nodding acquantance with.

Emphasis on many? all it takes is one.

In my right to have an opinion -- (elsewhere though) -- I would say if God repeated this today, no real scientist on earth would be able to classify it -- only Internet scientists would.

It would not be found in any computer data bank anywhere.
Like I said before, they probably would have been impressed by jaundice.
Good for them.

We find new diseases all the time. You really have no idea how much morphological ambiguity and head-scratching goes on behind the scenes when trying to work out the pathophysiology of a disease. For example, there are tons of reasons the kidney can fail, and the textbooks are bursting at the seams with all of the research trying to find out why.

But the problem here AV is that you are satisfied with the "Goddidit" answer. If you were around when they were discovering hepatitis, polio, smallpox, etc. you'd be putting your foot down, saying "Goddidit", and denying that we'd need to study the disease or learn anything about it. You are the antithesis of science and progress.

Rather than continue arguing with you, I concede that you are nuts and can live in your little shell as you please. You're now on my block list as I feel my brain will explode if I read anymore of your nonsense.

I find the way to regard dad and greg and those like them is as study subjects. They are examples of people who blindly and insistently believe their indoctrination over the evidence of the real world. It is interesting therefore to see how they react to being confronted with inconsistencies and contradictions in the worldview, which is where the nonsense that makes your brain explode usually comes from. I view them as laboratory specimens in an experiment about why and how humans believe things, where these beliefs come from, how and why these beliefs are resistant to contrary evidence, and why those beliefs may even be necessary for us as a species. Dad, as an extreme example, is in my opinion useful to observe and occasionaly prod rather than put on ignore.

That's your God-given duty.

This isn't about you guys -- as much as you'd like to think it is.

This is about Almighty God; and I'd say it's presumptuous (but your prerogative) to say that God could send something He calls 'strange', and you guys could figure it out.
For example, there are tons of reasons the kidney can fail, and the textbooks are bursting at the seams with all of the research trying to find out why.
I'll take your word for it.
But the problem here AV is that you are satisfied with the "Goddidit" answer.
No, the problem is that you guys are not satisfied with the "Goddidit" answer; don't lay this at my feet.
If you were around when they were discovering hepatitis, polio, smallpox, etc. you'd be putting your foot down, saying "Goddidit",
Really? you know that for a fact? or are you just guessing?
... and denying that we'd need to study the disease or learn anything about it.
Ya, right -- dream on.
You are the antithesis of science and progress.
You'd like to think that, wouldn't you?

I never said that wasn't the case. You claimed a particular statement about 'my' computer's calendar was a fact; I pointed out that that fact doesn't quite correspond to reality.

All your CE, and moon nonsense is moot, and second fiddle.

That is more a matter of opinion - and unless you want to get into the whole giant discussion about how to decide what's more important than something else, which is more a topic for the Philosophy board, it seems unlikely that either of us will be able to sway the other's opinion simply by stating our own.

" Whoopee do, I see mo monkey teaching at Harvard."

The above is a perfect example of a non-argument. You see 'mo monkey' (by which I assume you meant 'no monkeys') teaching at Harvard and therefore it naturally follows that evolution is not valid? Hmmm.

Nonsense. You mean that IF evolving were to have went slow and like it does now, THEN it would have taken generations...!

Well it did take many, many generations. The world has been around for about 4 to 5 billion years. The first fossil evidence of life dates to about 3.5 billion years ago. That's a long, long time. About 150,000,000 generations, assuming a generation is about 30 years.

No, the problem is that you guys are not satisfied with the "Goddidit" answer; don't lay this at my feet.

Of course I am not satisfied with the "Goddidit" answer. Am I satisfied with the "Goddidit" answer when someone comes in with tuberculosis, breast cancer, kidney failure, myocardial ischemia, HIV, or hemolytic anemia? NO. Because I don't want the patient to die. If you say "Goddidit", the patient will die. You are satisfied with non-explanations. Non-explanations lead to no way of treating the disease.

Really? you know that for a fact? or are you just guessing?

Ya, right -- dream on.

You'd like to think that, wouldn't you?

AV, you want to have a world where there are things off-limits for science and reason. You want to compartmentalize a section of the world that you perceive to be the "Goddidit" domain. It's a good thing that us science people are willing to dig into your "Goddidit" domain, and actually find out why things happen, rather than be satisfied with "oh because God made it that way/wants it that way/whatever".

The case and point is with your interpretation of David's disease. You claim that since the Bible calls it "strange" it MUST be a "Goddidit" scenario. You claim that this is a disease that is off-limits for science. Well what if that disease was tuberculosis? What if it was cancer? What if it was complications of HIV infection? Your narrow-mindedness would lead to the destruction of free inquiry (and the discovery of life-saving treatments) if everyone in the world thought like you.

DataPacRat: you win.

It's always soon with you guys. It's been soon for over 2,000 years! :D
A blink of an eye in geological time :p

That's an extremely generous assumption, considering that most things that ever lived on earth were not large mammals with extra-long childhoods!

Nevermind ... just nevermind.

So you're just going to ignore the points I raised?

I just think it's hypocritical of you to demand that science bows to your interpretation of the Bible, while in every other instance of your life, you benefit from science. You should really get over yourself. Apparently I struck a nerve with you on that last post, which is something I've never been able to do, which is exciting.
