  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Evolution False? Absolute proof inside.

Might I suggest that if you looking for something to believe in - believe in the one God (the Creator of ALL things) sent.

Now, which of the 3,000 that we have invented over the years would you suggest....?

Or us it just important to you that people believe in any of them, rather than dealing with the realities of this world....?

(Rolls eyes) I said it depended on who you talked to. I don't believe in any sort of supernatural or similar such thing. I have met atheists who do, but I don't.

I only wish that I didn't screw up half my life without Jesus.

My life isn't screwed up because I don't believe in the Christian god. Why would that happen? It isn't as if I can't value my life or other things without that kind of belief.

Atheism might seem alright for a while but have you ever considered a godless eternity?

I do like a lot of the supernatural movies and shows.

Matt 14:25
And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went away to them, walking upon the sea,
26 and the disciples having seen him walking upon the sea, were troubled saying--`It is an apparition/fantasma <5326>!'
And from the fear they cried out.
[Mark 14:23]

5326. phantasma from 5324; (properly concrete) a (mere) show ("phantasm"), i.e. spectre:--spirit.

Agreed...I have been an atheist ever since my birth 60 years ago...and I have a great life...! I'm healthy, I share my life with a wonderful woman, I have 3 beautiful children, cute grandchildren, I lead a stimulating work life, pay all my debts, and have many close friends...

Screw up...? Well, I'll take this screw up any day...!

What eternity? Yes, it is depressing to think that when I die, my existence ends, all that I am just gone. But anyone will ruin their life constantly dreading death, no matter what their beliefs.

No more than I consider the 'godless eternity' before I was born...!

This statement of yours reveals one of the underlying reasons for belief in gods....the fear that your life will one day end and that you will cease to exist....

That is one thing Christian believers never do -worry about death.

Not sure if you are aware of this, but there is actually a segment of Christianity that believes in that concerning the fate of non-Christians.

It is an unorthodox view and not shared much by mainstream eternal hellfire and brimstone Christianity:

I'll post a snippet:
Annihilationism is the view that whoever and whatever cannot be redeemed by God is ultimately put out of existence. Sentient beings do not suffer eternally, as the traditional view of hell teaches.

While I am not completely convinced of this position, I think it is worthy of serious consideration. In this essay I will present biblical arguments in its defense and then conclude with several other supporting arguments.

Overview of the Biblical Teaching.................

I wish there was an emoticon which could express "Oh really" to the extent that I need right now. Do I really need to give examples for how incorrect this statement is?

Haha....only because of the fantasy that you have constructed for yourselves...

I guess if I earnestly believed that I will win Lotto soon, I'd never worry about bills again either....

Funny how all the fantasising in the world won't make reality go away, right...?
