  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Evolution False? Absolute proof inside.

I'm healthy, I share my life with a wonderful woman, I have 3 beautiful children, cute grandchildren, I lead a stimulating work life, pay all my debts, and have many close friends...
Reminds me of the parable of the rich atheist:

Luke 12:16 And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:
17 And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?
18 And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.
19 And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.
20 But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?
21 So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.

Nice baiting.

Someone mentions fossils ... then when I address it, it's like opening up science's Pandora box.

Just pointing out a few of the many things that would have to be faked for "embedded age" to be true.

Reminds me of the parable of the rich atheist:

Luke 12:16 And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:.......
:D

The rich OC Judean rulers and priests were no better, as shown in this covenantle parable in Luke 16 :preach:

Lazarus and the Rich Man - Here a little, there a little - Commentary

LUKE 16:19
"There was a certain rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen and fared sumptuously every day."

Verse 19 also tells us that the rich man "fared sumptuously every day." Figuratively, this represents the magnificent spiritual feast available only to the Jews, who were the sole remaining part of God's called people, Israel. In the 1st century CE, they were the only people on earth who had the true religion.
Indeed, Paul recounts the glorious station of the House of Judah in Romans 9:...........................

While the significance of this seemingly pointless detail has been neglected by scholars throughout the centuries, you can be certain that it did not escape the notice of the Pharisees and scribes to which Yeshua was speaking. They thoroughly knew their history and were extremely proud of their heritage. Yeshua wanted those self-righteous Pharisees to know exactly who he was referring to with this parable.

This detail cements the identity of the rich man as the House of Judah, the Jews!.......................

You mean you're not going to work your way up to 2 million+ posts like a certain "impressive" individual here - 1, 2, 3, 4... 500, 501, 502.. at a time?

Now that's a great way to use ones time on earth.

That is one thing Christian believers never do -worry about death.

First of all, 'never' is a strong word here...

Secondly, I won't fear death until it becomes imminent. Yes, I could die in an accident tomorrow, but I don't expect to die any time soon.

If that were the case there wouldn't be any atheists. At least, none that ewe atheists for very long.

Unless they just dismissed God as a voice in their head, or a person trying to trick them, or an alien...

Hahaha, maybe, but I hear no voices in my head. And it seems a lot of the people who do are religious.

Ehh,
Okay, so he says carbon dating and many other ways proves a young earth, the carbon dating way is, that after so many years the carbon splits in half, so if a dinasour bone was found it could not have any carbon if it was billions of years old, sense all of the carbon would be gone from splitting in half, sense it splits in half after a few years, so therefor, it can not be that old, because scientists find carbon inside disasour bones, around as big as a finger nail, which if it was that old, would be litterly impossible.

How does a misrepresentation of carbon dating prove a young earth and evolution false?

13 pages in 3 days? I'm not going to read the whole thread, but hasn't someone pointed out the commonly accepted logical fallacy that the source cited in the OP doesn't provide credible evidence (let alone absolute proof) of ANYTHING?

Seriously folks, take a look at any of his videos. If you're into that sort of thing fine, but you're really not going to debate a scientist that way.

We're bored, so we beat a dead horse (figurative dead horse, of course) to pass the time.

I presume most evolutionist will call it quote mining before even letting the paragraph sink in but be it as it may, here goes:

I Don't Have Enough Faith to Be an Atheist - Norman L. Geisler, Frank Turek - Google Books

read as many sections as you wish, but the 5th paragraph points out a very good agenda within evolution (to be morality free). Basically so they can do whatever they want to do. Not because of the truth of the actual theory.

I'll ignore the fact, for now, that accepting evolution has nothing to do with faith (or lack thereof) in God, or his moral laws, and state that morality is, for most atheists, just as important as it is to theists.

Moral behavior is extremely beneficial to the survivability of a species, and has shown evidence of existing in species other than our own. Populations which work together, and individuals of those populations who respect each other, are much more likely to survive environmental constraints.

Furthermore, morality without the fear of punishment, or promise of rewards is superior to morality dictated by an authority figure.

I LOATHE the argument that atheists just don't believe because they want to be able to do whatever the heck they want. As if we are so primitive that we don't understand the importance of rules and respect. Could an argument be more condescending?

I love the highlighted area about "Darwinists" doing it for the money. A Google search for Joel+Osteen+net+worth shows he's worth $40,000,000. The same for Neil+de+Grasse+Tyson+net+worth shows he's worth $1,000,000.

Laughable.

well good for you that I wasn't making said argument.

The whole post I gave was proving that "some" reputable and public figures in evolutionary circles have in fact used evolution to promote moral liberalism (at least 2 for sure..more if I cared to research it):

"(Julian) Huxley honestly answered, “The reason we accepted Darwinism even without proof, is because we didn’t want God to interfere with our sexual mores.”36"

and again

“I mean if Darwinism is true—if there is no God and we all evolved from slimy green algae—then I can sleep with whomever I want,” observed the professor. “In Darwinism, there’s no moral accountability.”38- unnamed biology professor and a major university in the United States

SECONDLY: in line with that last quote. You may or may not have moral codes as an evolutionist, however there are no absolute laws for accountability. It's like not having any at all.
