  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Couldn't that be considered an instance of wrath?
Either that, or it was a prequel to an important point.[VERSE=Mark 11:20-22,KJV][VERSENUM]20[/VERSENUM] And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots.

[VERSENUM]21[/VERSENUM] And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away.

[VERSENUM]22[/VERSENUM] And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.[/VERSE].

Right on! Why curse something for not producing figs, when they're not in season. ROFL.
He did it as an object lesson.

Didn't Chuck Norris say, "Don't concentrate on the finger, or you'll miss all that Heavenly glory"?

Also an instance of not understanding fruit trees have seasons?
Stuff like this is why I think, if Jesus were to show up and do miracles, some people still wouldn't believe.

I feel sorry for people who say, "I'll believe in God when I see God [insert various deeds]."

No doubt. If cursing out of season fig trees and chuck Norris impress you much, there's probably a short bus in heaven for ya'll.

You don't get it, do you?

He cursed the tree, by addressing the fruit it bore.

Out of season or in season, the point is the same.

The tree is history.

You seem to have done well with yours.

I apologize, maybe it would have been better to say "we have difficulty with our human dimensional brains"

If he created us, so do we.

Not quite, we live in a dimension governed by laws that do not confine God. Fish can be put in an aquarium inside your home. Do you live by the same confines as them? They are limited by length, width, depth, O2 levels, waste levels, food being supplied, other fish being added that may be aggressive or food.
You, in the mean time, can walk where you want, have unlimited O2, waste is handled, while the fish are dependant.

This is not a perfect comparison, however, I think it's easy to see that the creator can live outside the limitations of a realm of dimension that it has created.

And yet, if we truly are His creation, then we too are part of His dimension.

This "if, then" statement is correct to a point. We are a dimension, inside His dimension with far more limitations than His.

Consider the following:

037.jpg

Imagine that the larger bowl is God's dimension, and the smaller one -- the bowl inside the bowl -- is our own. The same rules that affect the larger bowl will affect the smaller one inside.

Can you really have God simultaneously having created our dimension and then hiding outside of it, claiming the rules don't apply to him?

Consider this, we are a small bowl floating an ocean. God's dimension is not limited in any way to ours. Ours was created by Him. Consider that you create a song, It is only in existence when some one sings or plays an instrument. The instrument is eternal in relation to the song. The song is only evidence when it is played. God is the writer of the song, and the instrument that plays it. We are infinitely miniscule in comparison and are at the whim God.

If our dimension is a bowl. God's is not just a bigger bowl.

Oh, well.

I'm not the one going around saying, "God hates figs."

If that's your bag, knock yourself out.
Sure, sure.

So what do you think Jesus ended up eating then, since the figs weren't in season and he got all mad.

The old evolved earth was already populated when Adam and Eve arrived. The forbiden fruit was Eves ideas for fixing things as she became impatient with Gods original plan. So Eve mated with someone other than Adam that she found pleasing to the eye in order for her superior genes to spread. The result was Cain, he would eventually go in search of his real fathers people among the Nodites where he found a wife.

Apples aren't sin.

I should have stipulated that outside of the Bible bubble is a whole new world of facts and real history.
I'm not sure what you mean by 'Bible bubble,' but if you want to discuss a 'whole new world of facts and real history,' we can start here, if you'd like:[VERSE=2 Kings 6:17,KJV]And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.[/VERSE]Unless you prefer the myopic (scientific) version.

In which case, I'm not interested.
