  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

agreed, whenever you have stories like this it is the scientists who are responsible spotting the problem and addressing it.

I also find it interesting that we are given two contradictory claims by creationists.

1. Science is taken on faith, and no one dares challenge the status quo.

2. Scientists don't take the science on faith, try to replicate the results, and then challenge the status quo when they can't replicate the results.

Creationists need to pick an argument and stick with it.

Agreed, but then what we are seeing is that when creationists lose the argument they redefine the debate. In their world evolution and science are redefined as a religion.

WE don't have to explain where the creator came from. Only things that had a beginning need a creator. God clearly tells us that He is eternal. Either the universe has to be eternal or something outside the universe has to be. Since scientists have already proven that the universe had a beginning, then the eternal force outside of time and space has to be (what Christian's believe to be Jesus the creator God as described in John Chapter 1).

Yes, NBC, I understand, and agree, however, if we have to answer that one question they have many many more to answer, if they want to live by the standards they set for others.

Don't you have the same double standard?

No, the way I see it, God lives outside the whole space time continuum that He created for us. Time is not a dimension that confines Him. Saying "where did He come from?" is a question that can only be valid in our dimension and is mute in the dimension in which God resides.

It's like the paint in a painting saying "how could I be spread when I am a solid"? It exists as dry paint and is oblivious to the unlimited tubes of paint that the artist has and cannot comprehend the concept of wet paint.......

It only shows that science is trustworthy because it can root out fraud, unlike religion where everything is dogmatic and taken on faith.

Yes, it's so trust worthy that, what 40 plus reviews are voided. How many before now have been let through? The Smithsonian have been hiding, destroying and discrediting anything that does not fit their precious TOE for years....

This fact will be more and more obvious in the next few years..

It may stop there, but it exposes a very potent fact:

People aren't going to care if we agree or don't agree.

And trying to use disagreement as some kind of point against our beliefs is a sterile attempt at discrediting our testimonies.

"Our" beliefs, AV? "Our" testimonies? No, no, no... you don't get to cower behind them on this one... you know perfectly well that I disagree with you, personally, AV1611VET.

You call this:[VERSE=2 Kings 6:17,KJV]And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.[/VERSE]... 'willfully blind'?

As I have said before:

I call Elisha a far, far cry from anything you and your faith (and by you I mean you, personally, AV1611VET) have ever accomplished or would wish to.

Scientists can delete all the information in this solar system from thier propaganda, and we would still believe there's much more to this solar system than meets the eye.

Funny -- scientists are the ones who provided that information in the first place... luckily not all their books were burned.

No, but God was and He told us about it in Genesis.

Well, while it's certainly your prerogative to believe everything you read and everything you're told, some of us prefer a little more confirmation.

On what grounds?

I'm tempted to say that I disagree with many of your "theories" on their own merits, AV -- but they would have to demonstrate some first.

I'll let Jesus decide that.

Let us hope he ignores evidence as much as you do.

They missed this information then:[VERSE=2 Kings 6:17,KJV]And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.[/VERSE]

You can parrot the same verse over and over -- it still means nothing if it didn't happen.

Then you've got nothing to disagree with?

As you are fond of saying, "nothing" is your forte when discussing creation.

But I suppose you do deserve to know the basis of my disagreement with you:

All of your "theories" are based on two premises:

1: That the Bible (only the King James, of course) is the literal and infallible word of God, written by him through infallibly inspired human agents, and infallibly preserved word for word through the millennia.

2: That your interpretation of it -- inspired or not -- is correct.

Now, I assume that my basis for disagreeing with 2 needs no explanation, so let's focus on 1.

If I were were to accept the existence of the Christian God on any level, He would have to have two qualities:

A: An unconditional love for His children -- namely, us.

B: A respect for the gift of Free Will that He allegedly gave us -- God, as I have been told, doesn't want mindless drones; He wants us to choose him, no strings attached.

Unfortunately, your first premise runs counter to both of these qualities. And a god who doesn't have these qualities probably isn't the Christian God, and definitely isn't a God I would choose to worship of my own free will, "no strings attached."

Then where did He come from in His dimension?

Again, I know this is tough with your human dimension brain, God exists in a dimension in which "where?" is a question that is absurd. He created space and time. "where" is what He created. In His dimension the question is absurd. There was no "where" or "when" before God created space and time.
