I am waiting for you to provide evidence that shows it is an illusion. It is not just like a pattern we see in clouds or toast. The appearance is not only in the appearance of the feature or system like the BF but in the function and purpose that both the BF and the humanly designed helicopter rotor.

Luckily with technology today we don't have to rely on the scientists interpretation of the evidence but study the evidence ourselves. It is very clear that the Bacterial Flagellum and the helicopter are designed similarly not by appearance alone but the mechanics and function that they provide.

I would say that it is necessary. When you identify design, you are identifying a designer. It is the act of designing that leaves the evidence, such as the use of tools or methodologies.
