Demons are not "superstitions"

and I know that demons are real, because you can't have the authority to cast out something that is not there... Matthew 10:1
T Lynn... honest question... when's the last time you read the New Testament gospels? Because there is no way that you can read them and not know... I mean you say you are Christian... but what "enemy" did Christ defeat? Did He defeat a myth? I don't understand how you can read a Bible, believe in Christ, and not believe that there are such things as demons. That confuses me...
Emphasis mine.1 John 5:
18 We know that no one who is born of God sins; but He who was born of God keeps him, and the evil one does not touch him.
19 We know that we are of God, and that the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.
20 And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us understanding so that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.
21 Little children, guard yourselves from idols.

Okay. After all of this "stuff" happened, we were getting ready to travel with the kids back to ND. A friend of mine in bible study gave me her book by Frank Peretti called 'Piercing the Darkness' (I think that's the one...it was the first one).
Anyway......the first day we travelled and stopped in Coeur D'Alene, Idaho at a hotel, and the kids wanted to go swimming. Hubby and I got them ready, and headed down to the pool, which was packed to the gills. There was no place for me to sit down and read my book, and then I spotted this lady sitting by herself. I couldn't understand why people were sitting up against the wall and not sitting next to her. ::shrug:: No problem for me, I'm not shy.
There was something about her that just touched me ~ I asked her if I could sit at her table, and she very kindly said "yes". I set the book upon the table to watch hubby with the kids in the pool, and she asked me, "so, how do you like the book so far"? I was kind of surprised, but said that I was really enjoying it. She asked me, "is there a specific reason why you're reading it"? I thought to myself, either this is really weird or by divine intervention. Being the shy person I am, I told her what happened, and I thought I sounded like a kook. She was very patient, very kind, and listened to every word without telling me I needed to be in a straight-jacket.
She told me that many things such as this happen, because we're dealing not with the things we only can see, but with the principalities all around us. She asked me how long I had been a Christian, I told her, and she said that since I was so new to my faith and Satan was surely very mad about this, he set out to "attack" me, and my daughter who also was a new believer.
By the time we were done talking, and the kids were ready to go up to bed (hubby too..they wore him out), I felt such a deep calm and peace, that I can't begin to describe it. I really feel like God sent this woman to reassure me.
That's it!

God is Good, all of the time! If He is with us, who can be against us? No one!!
