Because we are saved by the blood of Jesus.  Because of Him, we can overcome all ~ the Lord God Almighty can defeat any enemy that may come to us.  She has been visited by the same "spirit" a few more times, but I think it's because she's stuggled (she's a very young teen).  We just keep pressing on, striving in the race that Paul admonished us to race, to the finish line

God is Good, all of the time!  If He is with us, who can be against us?   No one!!

Sbb ~ I never put the light of the lamp to equal the light of Christ together ~ that's certainly something to think about!!  Thanks for bringing that to my attention

I don't know that I've ever seen an evil spirit or Heavenly angels but I've felt their presence.

Several years ago I was also having a lot of demonic oriented dreams.  I shared an apartment with 3 other women and we had several neighbors who were into drugs heavily and one night my room mate saw an evil spirt come from their apt into ours.  I had been having vary bad nightmares where I would awaken quite terrified and would be agitated throughout the day.

Anyway, sometime after that, my pastor gave a word over me and God said that I did not need to be afraid because nothing could harm me.  That was the jist of it anyway.

The word was longer and a bit more detailed and my Pastor asked me if I could explain why the Lord would tell me the things that He did.  I then explained the nightmares.  He counsiled me how I could rebuke the demons even when I was asleep.  

That night, I again had a nightmare.  In it there were demons all around me, tormenting me.  I began to try and speak to rebuke them and a hand went firmly over my mouth.  I could not speak.  But I heard God say, speak it in your mind.  So I did that.  I began in my mind/head to say, I rebuke you in the name of Jesus, I rebuke you in the name of Jesus.  Gradually, the hand got looser and all at once it lifted off. 

I woke myself up, screaming, "I rebuke you in the name of Jesus".  

I only had nightmares a couple of more times after that and each time woke myself the same way.  

There are more stories, but that's all I have time for right now,

Another time,

I was having my usual quiet time with the Lord. I don't remember the scripture He had led me to that morning but I was reading and just talking to Him.

All of a sudden, something that had happend when I was a teenager came to my remembrance and all the hurt involved in the incident took me by surprise and I burst into tears and began to sob.

All of a sudden I felt the presense of many angels. That's the only way I can think to describe it. They were surrounding me and wrapping their arms around me and comforting me.

A few days before when my pastor was praying for me he looked at me and told me that the Lord had surrounded me with many comforting angels. He said not to try and figure out why but he just wanted to let me know.

Then when that happened with the angels my response was "that's them". It was pretty cool.

Speaking of dreams... in the past week, I have had two wierd dreams...

1 - Which is pretty cool... I was in a cafeteria sitting with a couple girls and when I got up I checked my back pocket and one had stolen my wallet. I went back in, and they were laughing at me, so I took it back. Then I rebuked the girl and told her that I knew how she could get forgiveness. Pretty much I led this girl in my dream to the Lord in my sleep It was pretty cool.

2 - This one was last night and is much more the odd one of the 2. I found myself talking to a little 4-5 year old girl in a floor somewhere. Before she left, I asked her if I could pray with her. Behind me a voice said "She's evil." So I asked her if it was true. She said "Yes. I like being evil. Sorry." She was about to walk away, then I said, "Well why don't I pray for you anyways." She agreed so I got to say "Father I pray..." I said these words fairly earnestly. Then she began to shake with convulsions (in my mind as though she were being freed from demonic possession- I've never seen it in real life except in movies...) I had to restrain her with my hands then while holding her said "In the name of Jesus Christ..." and I woke up. But it didn't end there. When I awoke (and was wide awake because...), I found that my body felt as though I had just been electricuted, and it didn't leave right away. My whole arms, legs, hands, feet felt wierd and I wasn't too sure if I wanted to move them right away. So it kinda stayed a little bit. I had a heating electric blanket on so I thought that maybe that's what did it, but I didn't see how that was possible... there are no open wires and (you know how sometimes you drool a little while you're asleep lol) I didn't. Completly dry For the next little bit whenever I said "Father I pray.." just those 3 words like I did in my dream... in my head or out loud... I felt a cold shiver go from my head to my feet. It was wierd. It doesn't really do it as much now though...

I keep wantin to say: "it's like I can lead people to Christ and cast out demons in my sleep" lol I don't want to sound prideful or anything, but it's funny

I definitely believe in demons and the activity of Satan and demons in the world today.  I believe (as someone already posted) that Christians can't be demon possessed, but oppressed or harrassed.  I also believe that spirits can be seen at times.  I've had 2 experiences- one as a teenager, and one as an adult.  I've been a Christian since I was a young kid, but handled each situation very differently.  As a teen, it scared me literally into not being able to move ('it' was outside my bedroom- on the deck on the other side of a  sliding glass door- it was semi-transluscent, sort of hovered- and was rather bold). It hung around for  a few seconds (seemed like days), and then left.    As an adult, it ticked me off.  I woke up, saw this 3 1/2- 4 foot tall dark, scrawny thing standing at the end of my bed, but it was very leary of me. I rebuked it, and it left immediately.   Both events happened during times in my life that were really intense, and I'd been less than invested in my walk with God (though still believed all I'd been taught or learned- just wasn't doing anything productive with it or seeking a deeper relationship with God).

And this could go both ways...only those of the church who are if at all related to this incident and God know.  And if God did not have a judgement against the church...then it happened...and God's people will live through the storm.  Sure God knew this would happen and all the other things that will probably be brought up and "why" he "let" it happen if he wasn't mad at them...dada this and that...
That is all besides the point.  God is in control...period.

Or maybe he didn't like the building and wanted them to start over or build a new one a better one..

There are demons, not all big things that happen to a saved, filled, person are their own doing, maybe your nieghbor is up to something and bringing trouble to the whole neighborhood, maybe the town has a couple cults and the kids are hurting themselves, even christian kids, yet not filled,.. being a 'christian' does not assume the gift of the spirit....

But can demons do much harm to a person who has the Holy Spirit, not just covering them but indwelling...? I don't think so at least it hasn't been my experience... when I was saved after a few months abattle... with I did not know what really I knew about spirits like a lady previous here I had seen them... I had heard them... I had even spokenb with them... but Ithought they were just ghosts... no Jeus showed me thye are demons.

Anyway he excorcised me before I was filled with the Holy spirit it was pretty much a sickening experience but was obviously needed, they did attempt to return just like the bible says they will, oh and they were big and nasty even...after while I did ask for more grace, realizing that it was the Holy Spirit who was doing the work there... the battle went on hard for about the first year, then it lessened and now They don't much bother us anymore. Things come round you know, but theres no battle here anymore, I've seen to much to be fooled again perhaps...

When I see people who claim to be Christians in mental asylums and stuff, well if they are really screaming maniacs I mean I don't know where anyone gets their info if that info is even accurate I do know satanists end up in asylums a lot, well known fact they kill themselves or die in mental institutions I have herad the same claim about atheists here and there, but a real christian? A Holy spirit filled christian? I have a hard time with that one... my life has never been better... he even healed me I felt his hands move right thriough me, every ache and pain I ever knew disappeared that day... He works really hard sometimes especially early on he did... of course there are so many who say they are filled but have no evidence of it so that would help those statistics maybe but still... maybe a young christian will falll alittle but it won't last long. I've been saved 71/2 years now and only the past 2-3 can I say we feel like we are starting to get on solid ground here in that respect... so from my experience it does take a while as He works, and you have to understand his work so as not to go getting into trouble yourself anymore... because i do think Christians in general will always have more battles than the non-christian the devil alreday has those and he knows it...


My daughter will hear the devil calling her from time to time, i have heard it too. a strange ratchety voice... last time was during the summer the window was open... they don't come in our house that I know of, they make sneak in maybe, they are spirits... or come in with something we bring into the house in ignorance or evn with a visitor.. but they do not stick around I can assure you....

A ghost actually tried to choke me once about 6 years ago... actually felt its hands around my neck freaky... not kidding though... but obviously it didn't succeed i have so many wierd stories I better stop...

I would be careful who lays hands on you, make sure your pastor is a good one and straight by the book! We have a good pastor, they do a team ministry laying on hands thing, pretty reliable...

They are gonna come round, they will do that, you are a prize to them as a christian, but they can't really hurt you don't worry. But they will test you. consider yourself blessed in the knowledge... Say the Lords prayer, they'll run away.

Whats really tough, as a young christian, ever wake in the middle of the night and one of them are sitting on your head or something and trying to hold you down... or you feel like you're suffocating? You have to break through it, gather your strength, fear not, and somehow just start in with the Lords prayer they will run away... they are just testing you it lessens as time goes by... I think maybe God lets them do that to you as a test also, seeing where you are at maybe..

Trust me the Lords prayer scares the dickens out of 'em,... because He sends His angels when you call...

Bad dreams? Just tell em get on out of here... they will. You are in command never forget that, you actually rule over these guys, they don't want you to know that...

neither do a lot of churches I think so beware...

Like I say He actually literally exorcised me, I think there is a lot more in people than they know, you might consider asking Jesus about it... I don't know if it's a good idea to help someone with deliverance unless you yourself are clean first... pretty clean anyway... not sure as humans in this life we can ever be totally free of it... something to do with original sin or something.

Sad isn't it after you see ghosts or demons and then hear people talk the way they do against Jesus? They have no idea whats in store for them.

I, too, have had a demonic experience, but I was the one being 'manipulated' for lack of a better term.  I'm going to post the entire story in the testimonies area soon, but I just don't have time right now, hopefully sometime this week.  I think, even though I wasn't worthy, that after I went through a terrible ordeal with demonic forces God rewarded me with an incredible baptism and three different visions throughout the ordeal and I think any faithful believer in Christ would enjoy reading.  Write you all soon...

Hey L4J... I'm personally interested by wierd occurances because it shows that it's all real Demonic visitations and spirits and such couldn't happen if there was no spirit life (debunking for atheism)

Here's a thought that ran through my head though... play worship music on the stereo next time any one of em comes around and see how long they stay lol I wouldn't think very long... lol

I saw my first ghost at the age of seven... laying in my bed at night, this thing glided into the room I shared with my sister... a hooded thing in a long dark brown robe with asash round the middle... it stopped at the end of my sisters bed who was fast asleep... turned and looked at me, there was no face just black there, it stood there about a minute minute and a half or so, just looking at me, then back at my sister, then turned around and glided back out the door.

I saw it once again sometime later, it went into the bathroom and never came out, least I din't see it come out...

a monk thing... wonder not why i have always questioned catholicism it started that minute right there...

I think the catholic church does pull a fast one on the folks by teaching about purgatory, it aint biblical, I think its actually hell, maybe they get there and tell these dead souls, just wait, work it off here... I mean who knows,,, and the day never comes you know? just conjecturing...

out in the country. in the middle of nowhere hoy veh... we ran into this one little town where we lived about 5 mos that was long enough... a literal ghost town, with people living it... demons galore, flying ghosts, all sorts... I had a dog there we were both in the backyard and there werre these ghost bunnies yes ghost bunnies running around, it was dusk, late afternoon but not night yet... anyway if the dog hadn't started chasng them I probably would have missed those...

I don't look into it much anymore I was convinced a long time ago... its just the dead and generally they are real confused they cam be demons and viscious yea but the dead they really don't know whats up is my impression... they just go around..... I guess till some point either the demons get them to hell or they fade away or something maybe get lost... don't know... now angels thats another matter angels of jesus, living souls... they could be sitting right next to you I think... and you think it's a new neighbor, flesh and blood... I am not sure I have ever seen any but i think so just a couple strange wonderful events a couple times, help, you know...

One time I was laying in bed at night, it was quiet and I did know that there were spirits around, that was about 3 mos after we had moved to where we are now... been here 'bout 5 years now... anyway I heard either Jesus or an angel say to them, i heard him with my ears, He said, 'You have to go, this house is under the authority of God..'

I like the idea of that a lot we haven't had much trouble since...

We've had angels come too for sure for sure, usually when you're in a bad way, upset, you know for sure they are there it is not your imagination...

I too have had many experiences with demons. But I don't have time to get into it right now.

I did want to say in referance to the poll, that all of the choices are wrong.

Demons have very little power in the realm of the natural, they need the agreement of a human for their power to manifest. It could be said that they usurp the power of faith to achieve their goals. They have very little power in themselves, they need the power that man has been given by God. Every horrific event circumstance has in it man playing a role. Therefore demons make nothing happen, it is man that makes things happen, demons are just the catalist.

Having said that it should also be noted that demons have their hands in just about everything. Always trying to get man to listen to the lies of hell. It is by belief and belief alone that man perishies. Every darkness that effects man is controled by the beliefs of men. A simple example is that man can do something in and of himself. It is this perticular darkness that controls most of mankind. If a man stops believing this darkness then it no longer has control over him.

There is darkness, then there is agreeing with the darkness. The power lies in the agreement, agreement is a form of covenant. Agreement can also be defined as accepting a belief.

I myself believe that the christians are the one that is harrassed the most.

 They the demons seem to be on a mission and it is to tortue Christians and make them weak.

I am not sure what the purpose they would have in bothering a non believer.

 I know if you plead the blood of Jesus you will get that peace back and the fear will go.
