Here's a question I have for my theistic evolution brethren. What evidence do you have to give to say God exists? If I were an agnostic or an atheist, what reason would you give me that would convince me the God of the Bible is real?

1. The origin of the universe 13.7 billion years ago. Anything that begins to exist has a cause. The universe began to exist. Therefore the universe has a cause. How does an eternal transcendent phenomena give rise to a temporal phenomena? That would seem to require intentionality on the part of the transcendent, hence God is the best explanation for the nature of the transcendent cause of this temporal universe.

2. The fine-tuning of the universe for intelligent life. The ratios and parameters of physical forces is so delicately balanced and intricate that even a single slight variation in them would make the emergence of life impossible. This is due to physical necessity, chance, or design. These parameters are not physically necessary as they are simply given in the big bang and are not consequent of physical law. Assuming it is due to chance is absurd and to do so by invoking the multiverse hypothesis would seem to violate ochams razor. So it is most likely due to design, and God is the best explanation for design in the universe.

Those are the two best arguments we have. The cosmological and the teleological argument. Ironically a YEC cannot use either of them....

The occupation of some YEC people seems to be if they can make a science that fits in with their reading of Genesis, then the Bible is proven to be scientifically true, so then people will eventually believe in Jesus because the book of Genesis has all of these amazing, scientifically-validated facts.
Not even close.
Science is the study of the physical world. Religion is the study of its Creator.
If God cannot supersede the laws of nature then there is no God.
If God CAN supersede the laws of nature than everything in the created world yields to the Creator.
If God exists, then the word of God is the absolute truth of the universe, not the laws of physics.
The choice is not whether to believe the Lord or believe science, the choice is whether to belief the Lord or disbelieve the Lord. The Lord demonstrates His authority 333 times in the Scriptures. You can't believe in the Lord and disbelieve His miracles because it is through His miracles that we know He is the one true God. If any of the miracles are true then they all are true. If any are false, then they all are false. The Creator defines the creation, not vice versa.
Science doesn't validate the Bible. Much if not most of what is written does not conform to the laws of nature. The recorded history of man's interaction with His creator would be billions of pages long by now if the record included all details of every interaction. The Bible records noteworthy people who found either favor or disfavor with the Lord. It records events that happened which give insight into the authority of the Lord. We know that Jonah spent three days in the belly of a "great fish" and that Lazarus spent three days dead in a tomb before coming out. We know this is true because the word of God is true. We don't need scientific confirmation of the fact. We know that the world was created in six days because the mouth of God spoke it (Exodus 20:11). If we understand God's authority, then we understand that there is nothing contradictory between science and the Bible. Science can explain what the laws are. The Bible explains why those laws do not apply to the Lord.

I wouldn't give a reason; I would give a life.
