It does not matter that they are laughing. This is Trump. I have no doubt in my mind that this is part of draining the swamp. You know the whole military tribunal thing... mass arrests... so on? Flynn just got pardoned. Soon he will be back in the DOD. He knows where the bodies are buried, that is why they went after him in the first place.
Call me crazy, but I cannot help but see this as the last attempt. The DOD is actually already involved in this. There was also an undercover investigation ongoing during this election to catch foreign interference. I see this getting to the point of being declared as an act of international cyber warfare. This would place the authority outside the courts since it was a direct act of war on America infrastructure, and be place in the DOD. Trump will declare a national defense response... the insurrection act and 14th amendment provisions will be enacted to strip electoral votes from rebelling states. At that point in time all of it will be heard in military court. Even SCOTUS will be presided over concerning an act of war and coup attempt.
I think that is where Trump is trying to go. I think this is his endgame.
Rather than call you crazy, I'm going to make two main points. First, there was no "undercover investigation." You told me that after the election, that Homeland Security was running it, etc. Instead, Homeland Security told us this was the most secure election in US history, that there was no interference. Specifically this was CISA, a new election monitoring group that is part of Homeland Security, created by a law passed during Trump's administration, with Trump hand picking the leaders of the group. Granted, Trump fired the man he had selected to head the group after the statement came out about it being the most secure election in US history, but it doesn't change the fact that Trump appointed him -- he was the person, and CISA the department, that Trump would have been using for the "undercover investigation."
Two: If the DoD is used because of "international cyber warfare," then it will be to fight in an actual war against the foreign nation that engaged in this cyber warfare. It is not legal to hold military tribunals against US citizens that are not a part of the military. I'd also love to have you show me where in the 14th Amendment and the Inserrection Act it grants the power to "strip electoral votes" from "rebelling states." More to the point, even if there was some cyber fraud (international or not), with some number of election officials involved, that does not equal a "rebelling state."
Instead, what you are describing is literally an illegal coup. Any "crimes" determined by these military tribunals, holding trial over US citizens, would also be seen by other nations as a military coup.
