Remember that I was the one who gave you the Sabbath. That's why on the sixth day I provide enough bread for two days. Everyone is to stay home and rest on the Sabbath." (30) And so they rested on the Sabbath.

ever heard this one preached or promoted? yes or no? do you think it should be included in those texts reminding us of sabbath observance?

27 Now it happened that some of the people went out on the seventh day to gather, but they found none. 28 And the LORD said to Moses, “How long do you refuse to keep My commandments and My laws? 29 See! For the LORD has given you the Sabbath; therefore He gives you on the sixth day bread for two days. Let every man remain in his place; let no man go out of his place on the seventh day.” 30 So the people rested on the seventh day.
31 And the house of Israel called its name Manna.[a] And it was like white coriander seed, and the taste of it was like wafers made with honey.

I think that if you look at the text in context that your question then becomes moot.

But to answer it - that particular verse by itself - no.

I agree with Doc. It should certainly be included in study because of the part of the history of the Sabbath it gives. The context doesn't make the verses unusable, actually I believe it makes the history more fully expressed.

As you have clearly shown there is indeed a difference between what Christans call the Old Testament, and what is known as the Torah. One's background and heritage does have a bearing on word usage.
