  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hmm actually, now that I think of it, I don't think I ever tell myself that I need a man to help me with practical things. Probably because I get too used to not having one, that I just take matters into my own hands. Even at work I do this. I'm not petite or small, but I AM a short girl (according to males, anyway), so apparently, my femininity should act as a hindrance from doing manly things. But I shock all the guys when I still lift and do things myself. But yeah, sure, I guess it's still nice to have a man around. If not to do "man" tasks himself, then to at least "bug" me about not doing those "man" tasks properly. Yes, I would actually be willing to accept a "check your oil in the car more often!" type of guy; I really would! I mean, at least for awhile. ;)

...you need someone of the opposite sex just to be there to do practical things for you? I get SO upset when the computer refuses to work and I can't fix it or cannot open cans and whatnot. Really, I'm not really into dating anyone now, really, but sometimes I'm very conscious of the fact I'm a girl and I need a guy to do stuff for me  I wonder if guys get those feelings when they burn their shirts ironing them or overcook their pasta? :D

Yeah, I do, so I get my brother to help me, lol. I'm not into dating at all, either - I just hope that when I leave home this year one of my flatmates/neighbours will be a guy who can lift heavy things and help me fix my car!

Stereotypes allows us to feel needed at times. We may be able to do most of everyday things but do we have to. The idea that someone else would love to do these thing for us, is an example of "Sharing in the True sense of Giving."

When these stereotype task are done in the function of Loving that other person, they seam not to be stereotypes but little thing that we do to show our love and support for each other in every day life.

And even though I can cook for myself, I still prefer someone else cooking to mine. When the lady does the cooking she show that she cares for me a little and when I enjoy the meal and her comment on the meal, then I clean the table for her and take out the trash that shows that I care for her. These are simple tasks but they say volumes.

But never "take their performance of these tasks for granted"
or you may lose more than just a these tasks not being done for you, you may lose being loved by this person.

Yah I know what you mean! I just got back from Target and I bought a nightstand. Well, it's really heavy...I almost hurt my back trying to get it up the stairs to my apt. ! Those are times I do wish I had a guy around or a guy friend that lives closer to me. It's also hard not having a boyfriend (although i know that's not really the topic of your thread) when you go to the store and all the families are shopping and couples and there you are by yourself. Sometimes I get these looks like "oh, single people shop for groceries too?" lol.

If I have ever, ever gone back to college, I would teach the first "Attitude Adjustment" course of its kind as there aren't any out there. Well...not just yet! Because most people do need one. Plus it would help me as well.

I LOVE Ikea!

Wow. I remember once going there with my youth pastor and his wife. It went pretty much like this:

She: "Oh this is cute! We should get this!"
He: "For what???"

She: "Oh, I like this"
He: *rolls eyes*

And we went on like this until she decided it's better for him to keep himself occupied with something else while we're walking around. In all fairness, we had to make a stop in Biltema (manly stuff, electronics etc.) on the way back.

I live with my parents, so I have my father to do all the guy things for me (even though he thinks I can do them).
Really I want a man just to treat me like a lady, like a princess. Open the door, pick up all the heavy things, take out the trash, do all things not meant to a lady to do.
My father does not really seem to understand the term lady, I suppose. O well. I just want some man to treat me for who I am.

Same here. My father does guy things to. But sometimes, when he wants to record a program, I record things for him. It is so hard to find men who treat women like princesses. Don't get me wrong..I am not a sexest or whatever it's called for a woman. I only trust my dad, brother, as well as brother in law.

Yeah, I'm probably the only straight man I know who likes shopping there. I'm also the only guy I know who likes to cook, and puts the toilet seat down!
