  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Jane-the-blane, in all seriousness, that's definatly not the way to take Rudolf Stiener's works.

Wikipedia said:
Nor was Steiner shy about saying that his works would gradually become obsolete, and that each generation should rewrite them. Individual freedom and spiritual independence are among the values Steiner most emphasized in his books and lectures.
Not that wikipedia is an academically credible source but it's quick and easy.
Reception of Stiener

I'll agree that vaccines can make people more ill but that's only if they do not take care, I mean how many people who have the influenza shot each year come down with a cold?

However with things such as hep c, prevention is better then cure.

Now Merlin ain't a god (never has she, nor ever will she make the mistake of thinking that.
Unlike
most 'MD's', as that's how they're "schooled" to think of themselves, and consequently,
their ego expects "patient compliance" (obedience) ~ Even as more willful "treatment" (than not) Harms, Dis-figures, Dis-members & Kills day-in, and day-out.

Certainly there are egotistical, arrogant doctors. There are people with those qualities in numerous professions.

Merlin's clients, or *Students* (a more accurate description) discover fast, "what she's talking about"
for in Merlin's *presence: they experience* what "PainFREE-(anything), or self-HEALing" can help each achieve/enjoy...
So, what Merlin (and me & others so engaged) are saying is: You can't really understand what it's about, without having the *experience*.

One should still be able to outline the basic premise of a practice that claims to teach people to self heal. Or does even a few lines stating the theories of such a service come at a price?

For example, I'm also a Figure-skating  student. Now, my coach can tell me about, and
demonstrate all "XYZ-maneuvers", 'til the cows come home. BUT not until I'm actually "skating...(practicing :p) XYZ", am I gonna know what she's on about... and yes then,
my Coach's *gold-medal-awarded* wisdom increasingly makes "sense"

I dunno, my daughter has figure skated since she was 8, certainly I can't feel what the body experiences doing those maneuvers however the physics is easy enough to comprehend. I understand them, and the possible effects on the body if one performs them in certain ways. In fact people understand so well they have a whole figure skating science program at University of Delaware where they sum up quite well the mechanics of figure skating and its effects on the body, the dynamics that makes certain techniques work etc..

"Attacking" someone, *wiser* than you at this point, is nothing new.
They even "crucified" Jesus; and He IS *GOD*. ~

There's nobody being attacked in this thread, unless you consider questions about your techniques an attack. The arrogance of the "wiser" claim, and the ego that links one to God indicates exactly what you claim about the medical profession.

It does say alot  about people - with nary a clue - as to the (harmless), completely beneficial and GOD-*honoring & praise-worthy* joyful-work we are choosing engaging ourselves in... - while yet, the suffering are increasing in their problem(s). And they fail, even in understanding 'this correlation'.

And yet you haven't said what your work is.

JESUS DID "take the Initiative" as you're aware (from the Bible), and
He stood "UP for His work". He wasn't evasive, and He "answered" *simply*, Konkurrent.
Did the people (who He was teaching to *enlighten*) understand GOD, better?? -
or did fools :( suspiciously treat him like dirt  !! anyway.

But you haven't stood up for your work, (whatever your work is) You haven't answered simply. You've been extremely evasive about what you do.

For example, re Jesus' Loving-suggestion: "Become as a *LITTLE :clap:child*, or
ye shall in no wise Inherit the Kingdom (of Heaven); you know as in "Life-*ABUNDANT*"."
Konkurrent ~ how Well do you understand?? Jesus Loving-suggestions.
This eminently, powerful TRUTH was *very non-evasively, & most simply* wisely stated;
yet
most "christians" today evidently have no more a clue about this,
than did the people who ended-up Crucifying our Savior.
Now how sadly :( sick are both of those..

Konkurrent ~ I ask you again: *how  Well* do you understand *Living as a *LITTLE :clap:child*

and THANK GOD , that Merlin does :D

The attempt to make people feel they are wrong to question your claims by linking it to how well people accept or don't accept Christ is amazingly distasteful. I've not encountered many people who place themselves in the place of Christ claiming similar persecution, perhaps you work for the current administration?

Jesus (as Creator of ALL life in the 1st. place), evidently "supports" LIFE, Imagine it! ;) Yes,
GOD is *Pro-LIFE*
As such, you will not find Jesus "supporting" : Abortions, Fetal stemcell-farming, Euthanasia, Dis-figuring, Dis-membering, Harming, Maiming, (most) Organ-Transplants", etc atrocities.

JESUS (Designed, Created, Resurrected) & Suggested us, *each* of His children, to HEAL.

Jesus had no quarrel with medicine. Your attack on medical science does nothing to help your cause to promote your own personal methods (which you still haven't explained) People secure in the things they know and teach have no need to discredit others.

Don't tell that to me, tell that to the disciples of Steiner who treat his every word like a divine revelation. (And yes, those do exist, and they are much more numerous than most would think, especially in Germany (for obvious reasons).

Well, since a common cold is not the same as influenza, I'd say an awful lot of 'em! ;)

Unfortunatly the voice of a teenager/young adult is not taken well by a community who believes they are divinely inspired. :(

Okay, I have to say something about organ transplants, because this is a subject that's very important to me. I have a close family friend whose life was saved by a heart transplant. He was on a waiting list for years and finally received the heart of a young man who was killed in a snowmobile accident and who was kind and thoughtful enough to have told his family he wanted to donate his organs.
Do NOT diminish the importance of organ donation. Of course in no way am I saying "Everyone must be an organ donor" (although I think everyone should, it's not up to me). It's a personal decision, but it really really makes me angry when people say that organ donation is wrong or immoral and try to convince others not to do it.
Does it always work? Unfortunately, no. Sometimes the body rejects the organ, for a myriad of reasons.
But to imply that doctors purposely mess up organ transplants to harm patients, or that organ donation in and of itself does more harm than good, is irresponsible and untrue.

I probably figured out this game when I was eight years old. My little sister used to skip around me in cicles, chanting in a sing-songy voice, "I know something you don't know! I know something you don't know! It's about yooouuu, and it's really impo-o-o-ortant, and I'm not going to t-e-e-ell you!"

Yeah, see, there was usually nothing behind that. She just liked messing with me.

Well... would you ask Jesus for HIS sources? ;)

Right. So if Merlin weighs the same as a duck... then she's made out of wood...

and therefore...

Jesus?

Some guy shows up tommorrow with long hair and a beard and says he's Jesus? You bet!

I've got the long hair, and I can grow a pretty impressive beard...

LOL. My mom's about the age of a particular person on this forum, and I can't get the image of her doing that out of my head.

Okay, I have to say this:

a cold is way different from influenza.

The flu and the common cold are both respiratory illnesses but they are caused by different viruses. Because these two types of illnesses have similar flu-like symptoms, it can be difficult to tell the difference between them based on symptoms alone. In general, the flu is worse than the common cold, and symptoms such as fever, body aches, extreme tiredness, and dry cough are more common and intense. Colds are usually milder than the flu. People with colds are more likely to have a runny or stuffy nose. Colds generally do not result in serious health problems, such as pneumonia, bacterial infections, or hospitalizations.

So, I get my flu shots every year and thanks to that I only get the common cold. Flu will probably kill me.....

If my memory serves (which it usually does, but I'm still fallible) the flu is caused by a virus and the common cold is from bacteria. Or maybe it's the other way around.

I just seem to remember that they're from different kinds of "bugs".

It would have to be the other way--or, actually, I think they might both be viruses. The cold is definitely a virus--that's why we can't treat it. And I think it would be all but useless to develop a cold vaccine, because there are about a million and a half different strains. I've heard that every time you get a cold, it is a different strain of the virus, and you become immune to that particular strain.

Influenza mutates a lot, too (yes, it's a virus) - and in more or less regular intervals of approximately 30 years, a particularly nasty strain sweeps the world and kills an awful lot of people as it passes. (The Spanish flu being one particularly nasty example.)

Actually, one of those is long overdue and could strike any time now.
