It is not only full preterists that believe all seven seals have been opened. That's not the distinction between Orthodox and Unorthodox preterism. Full preterists do not believe in a future bodily resurrection or any future coming of Christ.

The opening of the seals, and the fulfillment of what John was shown behind those seals are two completely different things.

Christ opened all of the seals during the first century, and then John was told... "Come and see."

John then recorded a future event, which he had been shown when the seal was removed by Christ.

Rev 6:3 When He opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying, "Come and see."

I'm of the belief that the Revelation of ST John was revealed to him (St John) prior to the destruction of the Temple (so many of the events were future - to St John). IOW......I don't believe the book of Revelation was written AFTER 70 A.D.

The Book of Revelation is the "revealing" by Christ.
Not "by Christ" - it's the unveiling/revealing OF Christ.

Revelation 1:1 ~ A revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place.

Do you think everything in the Book of Revelation was fulfilled during 70 AD, like the Full-Preterists believe?
As I posted already - that's not the distinction of a Full Preterist. There are Orthodox partial preterists that believe all that was revealed in Revelation has been and continues to be fulfilled. Let me introduce you to a couple (if I'm understanding them correctly - I still have plenty of studying to do):

Dr. Scott Hahn - The Official Site
Meet Dr. Hahn
Dr. Scott Hahn was born in 1957, and has been married to Kimberly since 1979. He and Kimberly have six children (two of which are seminarians for the diocese of Steubenville) and eighteen grandchildren. An exceptionally popular speaker and teacher, Dr. Hahn has delivered numerous talks nationally and internationally on a wide variety of topics related to Scripture and the Catholic faith. His talks have been effective in helping thousands of Protestants and fallen away Catholics to (re)embrace the Catholic faith.

He has been awarded the Father Michael Scanlan, T.O.R., Chair of Biblical Theology and the New Evangelization at Franciscan University of Steubenville, where he has taught since 1990, and is the founder and president of the Saint Paul Center for Biblical Theology. From 2005 to 2011, Dr. Hahn held the Pope Benedict XVI Chair of Biblical Theology and Liturgical Proclamation at St. Vincent Seminary in Latrobe, Pa. From 2014 to 2015, he served as the McEssy Distinguished Visiting Professor of Biblical Theology and the New Evangelization, University of St. Mary of the Lake in Mundelein, IL.

Dr. Hahn is also the bestselling author of numerous books including The Lamb’s Supper, Reasons to Believe, and Rome Sweet Home (co-authored with his wife, Kimberly). Some of his newest books are The First Society, The Fourth Cup, Romans: A Catholic Commentary on Sacred Scripture, The Creed, Evangelizing Catholics, Angels and Saints, and Joy to the World.

Scott received his Bachelor of Arts degree with a triple-major in Theology, Philosophy and Economics from Grove City College, Pennsylvania, in 1979, his Masters of Divinity from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in 1982, and his Ph.D. in Biblical Theology from Marquette University in 1995. Scott has ten years of youth and pastoral ministry experience in Protestant congregations (in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Massachusetts, Kansas and Virginia) and is a former Professor of Theology at Chesapeake Theological Seminary. He was ordained in 1982 at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Fairfax, Virginia. He entered the Catholic Church at the Easter Vigil, 1986.

Quoting Dr. Hahn: The Day of the Lord is always a day that has already come and a day still yet to come. It is the “today” of our Liturgy. ~ ‘Today’ is the Day: Scott Hahn Reflects on the 33rd Sunday in Ordinary Time | St. Paul Center

For example:

Isaiah 9:7
Of the increase of His government and peace
There will be no end,
Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom,
To order it and establish it with judgment and justice
From that time forward, even forever.

There will be no end to the increase of Christ's Government and peace.

It is ever increasing, each day, and will never be an end to this constant increase.

And another:

Eph 3:21
Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

This passage proves there is no such thing as a "Church Age", as Christ receives His glory "In the church throughout ALL Ages"
And also, as you can plainly see, has no end. It remains in a constant state of ongoing fulfillment, for ever and ever, world without end, Amen

Are you claiming people will continue to come to salvation in Christ on this planet for an eternity, without the earth melting event described in 2 Peter 3:10-13, and the fire in 2 Thessalonians 1:7-10, and without the future judgment of the living and the dead found in 2 Timothy 4:1?

Are you claiming we are now living in the New Heavens and the New Earth?

Hello Eric.
A lot of the symbolism in Revelation goes back to Egypt.

While studying on the Destroyer in Revelation and the blood of the Lambkin in relation to the Passover, I was led to the Passover event in Exodus 12

The 14th of the month is similar to the day Titus encompassed Jerusalem
[Please peruse my "Titus and Passover" thread]

Exodus 12:
6
And it shall be kept by you till the fourteenth of this month, and all the multitude of the congregation of the children of Israel shall kill it toward evening.

Titus sieges Jerusalem on Feast of Passover/Destroyer in Revelation/

The Destruction of Jerusalem - George Peter Holford, 1805AD
The day on which Titus encompassed Jerusalem, was the feast of the Passover
This memorable siege terminated on the eighth day of the ninth month, A. D. 70 : its duration was nearly five months, the Romans having invested the city on the fourteenth day of the fourth month, preceeding.

Revelation 18:8
Thru this in one day shall be arriving<2240> Her blows,
death and sorrow and famine.

And in fire She shall be utterly burned<2618>, that strong Lord the GOD, the One judging Her.

Exodus 12:

11 And thus shall ye eat it: your loins girded, and your sandals on your feet, and your staves in your hands, and ye shall eat it in haste. It is a passover to the Lord. 12 and I will go throughout the land of Egypt in that night, and will smite every first-born in the land of Egypt both man and beast, and on all the gods of Egypt will I execute vengeance: I am the Lord. 13 And the blood shall be for a sign to you on the houses in which ye are, and I will see the blood, and will protect you, and there shall not be on you the plague of destruction, when I smite in the land of Egypt.

23 And Yahweh passes<5674 `abar> to strike the Egyptians and He sees the blood on the lintel and on two of the jambs and Yahweh passes-over<6452 pacach> the portal and not He shall allow the ruiner/destroyer<07843 shachath>/<1842 oleqreuonta> to come to houses of ye to strike.[Revelation 9:11]

so the Christians had the blood of the lamb of God and were spared Apollyon the destroyer?
Jesus was back there even then, so in essence, the ones that put the blood of the lamb were a type of the Hebrew Israelites that would be called "Christians" in the NT/NC because of the shed blood of their [and our] Messiah.

The attempted sacrifice of Isaac by Abraham was a prefigure of the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross.

Gen 22:7
Isaac spoke up and said to his father Abraham, “Father?” “Yes, my son?” Abraham replied. “The fire and wood are here,” Isaac said, “but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?”
Gen 22:8
Abraham answered, “God himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering, my son.” And the two of them went on together.

Act 13:29
When they had carried out all that was written about Hhim, they took Him down from the wood and laid him in a tomb.

Act 11:26
And when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. So it was that for a whole year they assembled with the church and taught a great many people.
And the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch.

Isa 66:3
“He who kills a bull is as if he slays a man;
He who sacrifices a lamb, as if he breaks a dog's neck;
He who offers a grain offering, as if he offers swine's blood;

The biggest hint that most futurists [and perhaps some Preterists]seem to miss concerning Revelation being 70ad is the Roman denari in Reve 6:6 and that verse is concerning the great FAMINE that occurred during the Roman siege of 70ad Jerusalem..........I could practically harmonize Josephus's account of 70ad to Revelation [which I may do, time allowing]

John 11:48

"If-ever we may be be letting Him thus, all shall be believing in Him.
And shall be coming the Romans and they shall be taking away of Us and the Place and the Nation
[Reve 6:6/14:8]

Revelation 6:6
And I hear a voice in midst of the four living-ones saying: "a measure of grain/wheat a denari and three measures of barleys a denari, and the oil and the wine no you should be injuring"."
Revelation 9:6
And in those days the men shall seeking the death, and not no shall be finding it;
and shall be desiring/yearning<1937> to be dying, and the death is fleeing from them.
================================
Pulpit Commentary
A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; a choenix of wheat for a denarius, and three choenixes of barley for a denarius. The choenix appears to have been the food allotted to one man for a day; while the denarius was the pay of a soldier or of a common labourer for one day (Matthew 20:2, "He agreed with the labourers for a penny a day," and Tacitus, 'Ann.,' 1:17, 26, "Ut denarius diurnum stipendium foret." Cf. Tobit 5:14, where drachma is equivalent to denarius). The choenix was the eighth part of the modius, and a denarius would usually purchase a modius of wheat.
The price given, therefore, denotes great scarcity, though not an entire absence of food, since a man's wages would barely suffice to obtain him food. Barley, which was the coarser food, was obtainable at one third of the price, which would allow a man to feed a family, though with difficulty. A season of great scarcity is therefore predicted, though in his wrath God remembers mercy (cf. the judgments threatened in Leviticus 26:23-26, viz. the sword, pestilence, and famine; also the expression, "They shall deliver you your bread again by weight").

The Destruction of Jerusalem - George Peter Holford, 1805AD
.........Meanwhile the horrors of famine grew still more melancholy and afflictive. The Jews, for want of food were at length compelled to eat their belts, their sandals, the skins of their shields, dried grass, and even the ordure of oxen. In the depth or this horrible extremity, a Jewess of noble family urged by the intolerable cravings of hunger, slew her infant child, and prepared it for a meal ;........
While famine continued thus to spread its destructive rage through the city, the Romans, after many ineffectual attempts,
====================================
Revelation 16:21 "..great HAIL fell on men as a talent weight.." Josephus

And the Roman catapults and battering rams help breach the wall and allowed to the Roman to build a wall of circumvallation around the City.......

Pulpit Commentary
Verse 21. - And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent; cometh down upon, the present tense, rendering the description more graphic. Commentators usually quote 'Diodorus Siculus' (19:45), who mentions. as something marvellous, hailstones of a mina in weight; the mina being one-sixtieth of a talent; and also the account of Josephus, who speaks of stones a talent in weight being thrown by machines at the siege of Jerusalem (see Wetstein, ad loc.). "The men," though not pointing to any particular group of men who have been definitely mentioned, nevertheless necessarily refers to the wicked, were are the object of this punishment. "Hail" is frequently mentioned as a judgment of God and is added here to heighten the general effect of the description (cf. Exodus 9; Joshua 10:11; Psalm 78:47; Psalm 105:32; Isaiah 28:2; Isaiah 30:30; Ezekiel 13:11; Ezekiel 38:22; Haggai 2:17; also Revelation 8:7; Revelation 11:19).
And men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great; is exceeding great (vide supra). As in ver. 9, men repent not. Like Pharaoh, their hearts are hardened. These words end the general description of the vial judgments, but the events alludes to under the seventh vial are elaborated and particularized in the chapters which follow; the whole concluding at the end of Revelation 19.

Was He not revealed as the Son of God during the time of His earthly ministry?
There was much more to be revealed - do you think Christ's plan and character can be easily summed up? The followers of Jesus had a LOT to process. Their Messiah died on a cross (which would normally exclude Him from being considered a Messiah in the first place).

They were searching for a Messiah to rescue them from the oppression of the Romans AND the restrictive (and - at the time - corrupt) religious system of the Pharisees/Saducees. That hadn't happened yet - and Jesus died on the cross. Why did His followers continue to follow Him? They had hope - where did it come from? What hope were they clinging to? I imagine all of this had to be processed in smaller sized doses and to had to be been given more in an "as we go" fashion.

There was an overlap period between the Old Testament and the New - just as Isaac and Ishmael lived together for a time - so also was the Old Testament and New present at the same time. I believe Revelation was given in order to guide the early church in navigating that transition period. That transition period was 40 years - just like the 40 years they wandered in the wilderness.

The same imagery that was present at the giving of the law, the old covenant, is echoed several times in the book of Revelation (4:5, 8:5, 11:19, and 16:18)
Exactly "must SHORTLY come to pass".

Parallel Scripture Passage: “In that He says, ‘a new covenant,’ He has made the first obsolete. Now what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away” (Hebrews 8:13, 1st century AD).
