Equality Signs

[A New Dawn]

The administration of CF has determined that the use of the equality signs as avatars and in signatures cannot be allowed. This is for two reasons.

Firstly, the discussion of homosexuality can only be undertaken in select forums, as indicated in this rule (all rules apply to all parts of your post).

Do not promote homosexuality on Christian Forums. Homosexuality can only be discussed, without promotion, in Christian Communities and Faith Groups. Homosexuality may also be discussed in the Recovery and Ask a Chaplain forums solely for the purpose of seeking support with struggles overcoming same-sex attractions, and homosexual issues.

Promotion may not occur anywhere on the site. Because avatars and signatures can be seen in all posts in all forums, to have this image as part of your post cannot be allowed.

Secondly, the red equality image was designed as a campaign tool for this issue, and campaigning is not allowed on CF, as per this rule.

Do not disrupt the peace and harmony of the site by rehashing alleged grievances or disputes, publicly complaining about posts or threads, or ranting about Christian Forums or its staff. Do not attempt to undermine these rules or policies via campaigns, petitions, or protests. Do not discuss staff or reported actions publicly. Use the Member Services Center to submit questions and complaints about staff disciplinary action or rules.

Since we cannot allow them, these images must be removed from all avatars and signatures. We will allow till Friday for all images to be removed, and after that, avatars and signatures bearing these images will be subject to the rules.

I would hope someone would take the time to give a warning before cracking down on people (other than this one). I don't often look into the Announcements section and it barely caught my eye. If I click on this topic from the New Posts section, I get told I don't have the authority to view this topic. Until this time, I didn't bother trying further to get access to topics. I have to go into the Announcements forum specifically to view topics. Other people might just give up.

It does, although I am not sure why we cannot access it from certain places. I have had this issue, as well.

It does, but the topic doesn't load properly from other forums. If I click from the New Posts feature, I get an error message. I tried from two random forums and it loads the OP and then it loads a Happy Easter post after that.

Why is equality for all a banned subject? For that is exactly what this decision does, it bans the topic of equality. No one is promoting a homosexual lifestyle by using that as an avatar. Unless of course the administration here wrongly believes marriage equality is a promotion of homosexuality.

Personally, I agree. We are not promoting homosexuality or "becoming" (for lack of a better word) gay, we are promoting equality for those who are gay.

George is double checking but I don't believe so. Your avatar is not part of campaigning.

As far as I remember, it is not an issue at all. It is not promoting anything, it is a representation.

Equality in marriage is about giving Gays in relationship the right to marry same as Heterosexuals

Personally, I agree. We are not promoting homosexuality or "becoming" (for lack of a better word) gay, we are promoting equality for those who are gay.

It is a campaign that is being promoted all over the world and does promote homosexual relationships as equally viable relationships
