gotta hash this one out over lunch! problem is... the folks here at work aren't as deep into the theories as you are. logic and evidence sort of escape them but if they say anything great, i'll report back!

That reminds me of the teachers at my daughters school!

When I drop her off in the morning, I have to walk past the staff room. And every Friday, I can hear them in there drinking their coffee and saying all kinds of dumb stuff like, "So... like... did Ben and Danielle like.... DO IT or something? That's like sooooo gross!!!!"

All I can say is wow.... Whatever "powers" Ben has, I'd like to know!
And what is Widmore's connection with the island? And what about Penny meeting Desmond, how does is all come togeher?
So many questions!

I think the rules that Ben was referring to were the rules of engagement.

For example.
- Guns allowed in warfare, no killing of women and/or children
- Supernatural monsters can be recruited, but you can only use them once.
- No ganking! (World of Warcraft reference )

I'm embarassed to say that I sorta got lost in the timeline though.

They landed on the island in 2004, right? And then Ben warped to 2005. But according to the Losties, it should actually BE 2005 still on the island, based on the timeline of the script.

Or am I off base?

The last time we got Island Time, it was December 2004. When Sayid was on the freighter and Desmond talked to Penny in the com room, there was a calendar there.

Then last night, Sayid said he'd spent 8 years looking for Nadia, found her, married her, and she was killed a year later. So unless it is very late in 2005 and he found her and married her instantly, I don't understand the timeline either.

I wasn't too sure about that either, I'm sure the clerk at the hotel said Oct. 25th 2005, but I may have been wrong,. I am going to watch it again online cause I was kind of tired last night. But, I just had to stay up and watch,lol.

So Ben and Widmore are like playing some cosmic chess game and Widmore "changed the rules"?

Does Ben know about Desmond and Penny? Probably 'cause he seems to know about everyone on the island.

So, was it just me, or did anyone else find that the outer frame of the show was cropped off? Anytime they had text on the screen, I only saw half.

I had that too. I think was being broadcast in HD and I don't have an HD TV.

Ben really has quite the skills...disarming 2 guys with guns and then riding off into the sunset...with his wounded arm....

Made me wonder if he'd been taking those shots too, the ones that seem to give above-human strength.
