even though this spoiler is now old since we actually watched the episode and this was hearsay in the first place (from whoever made that graphic)... I still want to clear something up to see if anyone else agrees.

I still don't think it was Jin's casket that Jack went to see.
1) Why wouldn't Sun go see it? the funeral staffperson said no one came, right?
2) It wasn't in Korea, which is where you would think Jin's casket would be taken (his gravestone is there, after all). We know it's not Korea because of the language and the fact that Jack drove his beat-up truck to get there :)

so I'm pretty sure it's the casket for someone else.

So about the rest of the season...
Watch it come down to having only 6 seats on the helicopter... and Sun getting the last spot. Jin sacrifices being with her to save her and the baby's lives... so they're separated, but he's not dead. OK, here's hoping anyway...

That does make sense - but Sun being at the tombstone talking to it like Jin is really there is a bit odd - if he is still on the island.

Your theory may also explain why Kate had Aaron (but then why didn't Kate give up her seat for Claire?).

OH THIS SHOW GIVES ME A HEADACHE!!!!!

- as an aside - on another board I'm on someone thought the lady that jumped off the boat was LIBBY!?!?!?! - these poor people have no clue.

At first glance, the woman looked like Uma Thurman's stunt double. I think her name is Zoe Bell.

I checked IMDB, but it wasn't her. Makes sense. Would be a waste of her talents.

Oh...

I looked at IMDB again and I was looking in the wrong section.

I was looking in the list of movies/shows where she was credited as a "stunt double", not an actress.

Seems like she's been the voice on the satellite phone also whenever people were calling the ship.

I KNEW she looked familiar. :)

Has anyone here watched Deathproof? She was awesome in that movie. Very talented.

The epi is really [wash my mouth][wash my mouth][wash my mouth][wash my mouth]ing me off. This one has come close to ruining LOST for me. The mixed ff's/fb's weren't intriguing. It was just convoluted. There is a difference.

I'm reading other threads in a different LOST forum. Other people are confused like I was. They also think Jin faked his death only to be let down. A plot twist shouldn't have to involve going on the internet to figure what the actual twist was supposed to be. It should also leave you feeling excited, not let down. The conspicous absence of Jin should've been enough but they had to throw a pointless flashback in there? This was just... STUPID!

If they continue this convoluted story-telling, I'll know that LOST has jumped the shark.

And, yes, I'll probably rant for days about this... So you might place me on ignore... LOL
I understand what you're saying -- but I don't agree. :)

Including the flashback for Jin could have had a number of valid plot-worthy reasons. Sun may have been fantasizing this as she was in labor. She may have remembered Jin telling her that story, and while she was calling out for him, she may have been imagining the reason he wasn't there was because he was out running around trying to find a panda bear for her.

It might have been included to juxtapose the difference in the man Jin was then, and the man he is now. Jin forgave Sun because he knew he was a colder, emotionally withheld, different man back then. That man had fits of rage, threatened to kill men who stole cabs from him, stomped on broken cell phones, bribed shop owners for bears that were held for other customers, did what his boss told him to do no matter what it was, no matter how he had to do it, and callously told a hospital nurse, "It wasn't my baby. Don't rush me, I've only been married two months."

Juxtapose that Jin we saw in the flashback, with the Jin who stood by his pregnant wife even after learning she'd had an affair, the Jin who was willing to follow her wherever she wanted to go, even to Locke's camp, the Jin who loved her with all his heart and made sure she knew it. His flashback was a reminder to Sun perhaps, but definitely to the viewers, of how far he had come since arriving on the island.

I didn't think it was pointless at all, really. I thought it was kind of lovely. And it sure blew my pants off when I figured it out. ;)

Excellent post, Snooch. I agree. I was thinking as I was reading the thread that it did show the contrast between the old Jin and the new Jin. I was going to post something along the same lines, but you've done a beautiful job ....nothing left to say on that...kudos!

I've a couple other thoughts, and I wanted to make a new post for them.

- Will Juliet end up explaining more of her past, at least to Sun, considering what she did to Sun and Jin?

- When in time was it that we saw Hurley come and visit Sun? (and yes, Red...I had those same thoughts for a bit)

- Why did Hurley say "Good!" about the others not coming, since he seemed at least somewhat glad to see Jack when he was in the hospital. And Sun didn't seem to disagree.

- Looking waaaay back....we discovered that the expensive watch was something Jin was to deliver as part of his job. Since it's been lost...could it be that another "hit man" took care of Jin, and that's why he's dead?

- Sayid and Desmond are told not to trust the captain...and yet the captain seems to provide the most frank and credible information about what is/has gone on...including telling them about the underwater plane wreck. When do we find out why they shouldn't trust him? Or should they?

- Where's Walt? Last we saw, he was with Michael.

So...we've seen Oceanic 6 who:

- Never went with Locke - Jack

- Went with Locke and left him - Hurley

- Banished by Locke - Kate

- Seeking to go to Locke and never actually going - Sun with Jin.

I don't think we've seen all 6 yet, as I'm not counting Aaron.

It was really nice to see Bernard again. We last hear him talking about "karma" and what goes around, comes around. Maybe part of why Jin was so forgiving, is because he knew his own past better than anyone, and wanted to have a big role in turning around all the damage he'd done in his own marriage....and the damage he's done in the world...to keep damage from coming onto his unborn child.

Where did Frank take the helicopter? And lima beans?

What's with the doctor being so dispassionate? He's just creepy.

It couldn't be more than 6 or 7 months after the rescue, since she just had the baby. On the island last night, she was 8 weeks pregnant.
