Jin is Korean and they were in Korea. The panda was for the ambassador from China. He was in Korea where Jin was and an ambassador would speak the native language. I would say they spoke Korean.

Spoiler: 3 dates

I cannot figure out why there are 3 dates on the stone. The dates from left to right were 3/20/84, 11/22/74, & 9/22/04. I'm not quite sure what the '84 date would be - since the '74 would make more sense as his b-day. Then '04 was the date of the crash (apparently he died in the crash ).

First, to address Gospgirl's confusion...

The episode had a flashback AND a flashforward. Sun was the flashforward. Jin was the flashback. That's why he said he'd only been married for 2 months and was a representative of Jaik Automotive (Sun's dad's company).

But we had to know that something was fishy because I started counting the Oceanic 6 and Jin was causing it to be 7! So I started questioning if Aaron was really counted!

I missed out on the whole Ambassador thing. I thought that Jin was IN China, but the Ambassador would be in Korea. Makes sense now.

Jin's a pretty forgiving guy. I would've asked if the baby was mine FIRST, and then commit to staying with Sun.

Pretty gruesome how that girl jumped off the ship wrapped in those chains. The sickness, perhaps?

Is Penny's dad a good guy for trying to investigate this whole plane crash thing? And is Ben really behind the coverup? I thought Ben was just as surprised as everyone else by the plane crashing. But then again, he has files on everyone... and a list. I'm confused.

Yes, in fact!!! I had been thinking about him lately. It's seemed previously as if he has just been forgotten. Apparently not. YAAY!

That was a bad move on the writer's part to mix fb's and ff's. Jin's flashback was utterly pointless. Who cares that he needs to buy a teddy for some official's baby? (We already knew that he worked for Paik in the past.) How were we supposed to figure out that it was a fb and not a ff? I just thought that Jin and Sun had to separate when they got off-island. I had a whole theory going on in my head and I was raring (sp?) to test it on you all but I can see that it's pointless now.

A famous author said (who didn't follow her own advice), "Readers loved to be tricked, but not conned." I felt conned with the mixed ff's and fb's in this episode. I'm a little miffed.

I did not cry when Charlie died. Maybe because I knew it was coming, more likely because I was not that attached to his character. I didn't think I was that attached to Jin and Sun either, but..... man. I cried.

When Hurley showed up at the door, it just made me love him even more. He might be the most likable character on television, ever. BUT -- when he asked if anyone else was coming, and Sun said no, why did he say, "Good"? This had to be just months after the rescue, why is he so weary to see anyone else already?

it's doubtful they were married 10 years before the crash. i think we know when they married from another episode, but i'm forgetting now.

My pants flew off when I thought that Sun only thought that Jin was dead... But then, I found he really was dead... So pants stay on and belt buckled a few notches too tight.
